WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach and the Seal Beach Chamber of v Commerce have cooperated to demonstrate to our community '� their commitment to a drug free lifestyle; and WHEREAS, the Red Ribbon Campaign will be celebrated in every community in America during "Red Ribbon Week" — October 21 -27, 2002; and WHEREAS, businesses, government, law enforcement, schools, religious institutions, service organizations, youth, medical, senior citizens, military, sports teams and individuals will demonstrate their commitment to drug free healthy lifestyles by wearing and displaying red ribbons during this week -long campaign; and WHEREAS, the community of Seal Beach further commits its resources to ensure the success of the Red Ribbon Campaign. NOW THEREFORE, 1, JOHNLARSON, MAYOR OF THE CITYOFSEAL BEACH, do hereby proclaim the week of October 21 -27, 2002, as RED WOO OWV WEEK in the City of Seal Beach and encourage all citizens to display a red ribbon and to participate in drug prevention and education activities, making a visible statement that we are firmly committed to a drug free community. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City ofSeal Beach encourages all citizens to pledge "My Choice, Drug- Free! ". WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City ofSeal Beach to be affixed this Fourteenth Day of October in the Year Two Thousand and Two.
