The City Council of the City of Seal Beach. California met in
~gu~ar adjourned session at 8:00 p.m. with Mayor Holden
presiding. The meeting was called to order with the Salute to
the Flag.

OF.FICIAL CANVASS OF PRIMARY MUNICIPAL ELECTION - March 28, 1972
Also present:
Mayor Holden stated that Section 29932 of the Elections Code
requires that the governing board shall meet to canvass the
returns, and that Section 18405, 18406 and 18407 of the Elections
Code govern the conduct of the canvass, and directed the City
Clerk to assist the Council in canvassing the returns of the
election held March 28. 1972,with consent-of the Council present.
RE-TALLY OF ABSENTEE VOTE

Memorandum from the City Clerk was received stating that the
absentee vote precinct total appeared to be less than that cast
for clerk and requested that the Council require a retally of
the absentee votes pursuant to Section 18465 of the Elections
Code. Holden moved, second by Sales that the absentee vote be
retallied as requested.

Sales moved, second by Holden, that the names of the election
officers for the absentee board be entered into the record:

The official canvass commenced as ordered. The corrected tally
of the absentee board was received and included in the official
canvass.
Mr. Blackman arrived at 9:15 p.m.

RESOLUTION NUMBER 20R4 - DECLARING RESULTS OF ELECTION -
March 28, 1972
Resolution Number 2084 was read in full entitled "A RESOLUTION
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH. CALIFORNIA
RECITING THE FACTS OF THE PRIMARY MUNICIPAL NOMINATING ELECTION
HELD IN THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH ON THE 28th DAY OF MARCH 1972,
DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF, AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE
PROVIDED BY LAW." Holden moved, second by Sales to adopt
Resolution Number 2084.

Mr. Blackman stated that he did not vote because he was not

present for the entire canvass.
Section 5 of Resolution Number 2084 required the followinq to
be entered into the minutes as a matter of record.
