Home My WebLink AboutCC Res 6161 2011-07-11RESOLUTION NUMBER 6161 A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL APPROVING AGREEMENT FOR TRANSFER OR PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT /SERVICES OR FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF TRAINING COSTS FOR FY 2010 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF ORANGE AND THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH WHEREAS, the County of Orange, a political subdivision of the State of California has applied for, received and accepted a grant from the State of California, acting through its Office of Homeland Security, to enhance countywide emergency preparedness. WHEREAS, the terms of the grant require that the County of Orange use certain grant funds to purchase equipment, technology, or services that will be transferred to the City of Seal Beach to be used for grant purposes. WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach and the County of Orange are desirous of executing this Agreement as authorized by the City Council and the City Manager. THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute for and on behalf of the City of Seal Beach, a public entity established under the laws of the State of California, any actions necessary to obtain federal financial assistance provided by the Federal Department of Homeland Security and sub - granted through the State of California. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution. Mayor 1 RESOLUTION NUMBER 6162 A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL DECLARING WORK TO BE COMPLETED PER CONTRACT DOCUMENTS FOR THE ELECTRIC AVENUE STORM DRAIN IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT NO. SD1001 WHEREAS, on November 9, 2009 the City of Seal Beach entered into a contract with Palp Inc, DBA Excel Paving Company; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has determined that the work has been substantially completed in accordance with the contract documents. NOW, THEREFORE, THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE: Section 1. That the work required to be performed by Palp Inc. DBA Excel Paving Company has been completed. Section 2. That the total cost of amount to be paid to Palp Inc. DBA Excel Paving Company is $1,763,106.01 for the work performed. Section 4. That the work is hereby accepted and approved. Section 5. It is further ordered that a "Notice of Completion" be filed on behalf of the City in the Office of the Orange County Recorder within 10 days of the date of this resolution. ST1107 WHEREAS, on March 14, 2011 the City of Seal Beach entered into a contract with Golden State Constructors, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has determined that the work has been substantially completed in accordance with the contract documents. NOW, THEREFORE, THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:' Section 1. That the work required to be performed by Golden State Constructors has been completed. Section 2. That the total cost of amount to be paid to Golden State Constructors, Inc. is $119,695 for the work performed. Section 4. That the work is hereby accepted and approved. Section 5. It is further ordered that a "Notice of Completion" be filed on behalf of the City in the Office of the Orange County Recorder within 10 days of the date of this resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE: Section 1. The City Council hereby approves the three (3) year (with option to extend an additional three (3) years) professional services agreement (Agreement) between the City of Seal Beach and Republic Intelligent Transportation Services for Traffic Signal Maintenance Services in the amount of $49,761. Section 2. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the Agreement. The City Council hereby approves the agreement between the City of Seal Beach and Community SeniorSery to provide transportation funding for the Senior Nutrition Program. Section 2. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the Agreement.
