January 3, 1966
The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular session
at 8:00 p.m. with Mayor Nescher presiding. The meeting was c!lled
to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Gummere to approve the
minutes of December 20, 1965 as presented.

Motion carried.
Payroll demands No. 5879 to 5980 inclusive, $21,890.90 and regular
demands No. 8964 to 8998 inclusive, $6733.04 for a total of $28,623.94
as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved
by Gummere and seconded by Steddom that the demands be allowed and
warrants drawn on the Treasury for the same.

A letter from Superv~sor Baker refarding the formation of a Sani-

prepare the application for admission and to employ Voorheis,
Trindle and Nelson to prepare the maps and descriptions.

A letter from the State Division of Highways regarding the public
qearing to be held February 3, 1966 in Huntington Beach, for the
route adoption of freeway route 1-240. Pacific Coast Freeway was
discussed. Members of the Council to attend.

Alcholic Beverage License transfer from Colin Craig and Rose Craig
to David Craig and Robert Luraschi DBA Irvine Liquor was received
and fUed.
A letter from the State Departmeht of Finance regarding the requested

population estimate March 1, 1966 was received and filed.

A letter of resignation from John T. Williams as City Manager,
effective February 1, 1966 was presented. Tributes and commenda-
tions for a job well-done were made by the Mayor, members of the City
Council, the City Clerk and members of the audience. It was moved
by Gummere and seconded by Steddom to accept the resignation with

It was moved by Gummere and seconded by Gemmill to instruct the
City Manager to do what. is necessary to carry out the request from
the Fred H. Bixby Ranch Company, for the cancellation of taxes on
the partition. of Ranch Company, land dedicated to the Ci ty of Seal
Beach for Lampson Avenue.

A report of the City Clerk regarding the number of council meetings
held during 1965 was received and filed.

It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Gummere to instruct the
City Manager to make available all data to the City Attorney in
the matter of the Leisure World Water Agreement.

It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Steddom to allocate $200.00
to the Artists League for prizes for the Seventh Annual Show.

Mr. Gemmill announced that the next meeting of SCAG would be held
February 24, 1966 at the Statler Hilton Hotel and urged all council-
men to attend.

It was moved by Gummere and seconded by Gemmill to adjourn at 9:23 p.m.
until Monday, January 10, 1966 at 8:00 p.m.
