Letter from Edwin W. Wade, Mayor, City of Long Beach, encouraging
participation in the Sea Festival parade on' October 16, 1966 was
discussed.The City Manager to persue further in regard to other

local organizations also participating.
Letter from Independent Business Men's Association of Greater
Long Beach requesting support for adequate housing for Naval per-
sonnell was discussed.The City Manager to consult with Captain Hall
of the local Naval Weapons Station and prepare a proper resolution.
It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Gemmill to grant the
request of the Seal Beach American Legion Auxillary to sell fire-
works and to waive the license fee.

Mr. Larry Peters, President of the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce
asked that the~r letter regarding an annual contract for promotional
activities be tabled at this time for the presentation of a more

complete program. Request granted.
Letter from the Chamber of Commerce regarding July 4th carnival,
et cetra, was discussed. It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by
Anderson to pe~it the easterly one half of Main Street from
Central to Electric and the south side of Electric from Main to
lOth Street be blocked off and to provide the necessary city
services for electrical connections, etc.

firewirks display portion of the Chamber of Commerce 4th of July

instructed to prepare an estimate, financial statement and to make
recommendations.
