Resolution No. 1451 (Treasury Bills) was presented by the City Attorney. It was moved by Gummere and seconded by Steddom to adopt Resolution No. 1451. The Ma~orrecessed the meeting to Executive Personnel session at 8:22 p.m. The meeting reconvened at 8:30 p.m. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Nescher that the 'City Manager salary be set at $16,800 per year. AYES: ABSENT: Anderson, Steddom, Gummere, Nescher Gemmill Motion carried. It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Anderson to approve the choice of the City Attorney and appoint James Plooster as deputy city attorney. AYES: ABSENT: Anderson, Steddom, Gummere, Nescher Gemmill Motion carried. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Nescher that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with the plans for the improve- ment of the Sewage Treatment Plant, that the Mayor and City Mana- ger be authorized to attend a meeting in Sacramento, June 22, 1966 for the purpose of obtaining a grant of $87,000 for the improvement. Sewajl;1 The City Manager reported that Mr. Anderson and his trip to Washington appeared favorable in regard to obtaining an easement right-of-way for Bay the widening of Bay Boulevard and a location for water storage facilities. Blvd He also reported that their trip to the Rivers and Harbors Convention revealed that things look good for harbor improvements and the desalinization plant in this area. 46 Mayor Pro-tem Gummere reported briefly on his attendance to the Mayor's Convention in Dallas, Texas. City Officers reports were received and filed. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Steddom to approve and sign an agreement with the Orange County Flood Control District for a fence at the Balsa Chica Channel and Lampson Avenue bridge. .
