The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: I Absent: Mayor Gummere Councilmen Anderson, Gemmill, Hamilton, Dreis None It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Dreis to approve the minutes of August 15, 1966, as presented. AYES: NOES: Anderson, Gemmill, Hamilton, Dreis, Gummere None Motion carried. Payroll demands Numbers 101 to 241 incl., $34,751.13, as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by Dreis and seconded by Hamilton that the demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for the same. AYES: NOES: Anderson, Gemmill, Hamilton, Dreis, Gummere . None Motion carried. Letter from the City of Buena Park re-submittal of Flood Control District Bonds was received and filed. Resolution Number 1481 (Civic Events-Sixty Day Notice) was presented by the City Attorney. Mayor Gummere presented a Key to the City Plaque to Captain .Warren G. Hall, Jr., for his civic services to the City. Captain Hall responded with grateful appreciation. Resolution Number 1482 (Captain Warren G. Hall, Jr.,~appreciation) was presented by the City Attorney. It was moved by Gummere and seconded by Gemmill to adopt Resolution Number 1482. It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Anderson to waive the first reading of Ordinance Number 689, that it be deemed as having had its first reading ~nd passed to the second reading. AYES: NOES : Anderson, Gemmill, Hamilton, Dreis, Gummere None Motion carr~ed. Ordinance Number 690 (Tax Rate-1966-67-Urgancy) was presented in full by the City Attorney. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Dreis to adopt Ordinance Number 690. AYES: NOES: Anderson, Gemmill, Hamilton, Dreis, Gummere None Motion carried. I It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Hamilton to authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with the United Boat Seryice for tram service, parking and pier landing privileges. It was moved by Hamilton and seconded by Dreis that the City Manager be authorized to execute an agreement with Union Oil Company for tram service, parking and pier landing. It was moved by Hamilton and seconded by Anderson to authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Electro-Dyne for month to month or day to day rental of tram equipment. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Dreis to authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Orange County Peace Officers Association, Inc.., for Identi-Kit rental. Upon the recommendation of the City Engineer it was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Dreis that the bi~ of Allied Mechanical Contractors, Chula Vista, California for Pier utilities in the amount of $34,994.52 be deemed as being the best responsible bid, that all other bids be rejected and that the City Manager be authorized. to execute the contract. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Gemmill that the City Manager be authorized to enter into an agreement for the . temporary operation of the pier cafe until going for bids. It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Gummere to close the agenda at 12:00 noon on Thursday prior to regular adjourned meetings held on Mondays and that any matter not on the agenda ~o1' will be 66tertained by the Council without unanimous consent of the Council present. They recommended a 16 to 18 acre area just north of the city limits and west of Bay Boulevard. The City Manager to contact the property owners in regard to cost figures and to prepare estimates of the overall project. I , . . Dalbey, 255 - 17th Street, on a decision of the ~. Comm. Planning Commission. Mr. Lawrence Peters, attorney, representi~---- Mr. Dalbey presented the case. After some discussion it was moved by Hamilton and seconded by Anderson to uphold the appeal of Mr. Dalbey and refer the matter back to the Planning Commission.
