The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Mayor Gummere Councilmen Anderson, Gemmill, Hamilton, Dreis Absent: Councilmen - None It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Dreis to approve the minutes of August 22, 1966, as presented. AYES: NOES: Anderson, Gemmill, Hamilton, Dreis, aummere None Motion carried. . . Regular demands Number 603 to 707 incl., $33,118.00 and payroll . demands Number 242 to 397 incl., $38,096.64, totaling $71,214.64 as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by Dreis and seconded by Hamilton that the demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the treasury for the same. AYES: NOES: Anderson, Gemmill, Hamilton, Dreis, Gummere None Motion carried. The Mayor announced that this was the time to hear an appeal of Norman E. Dalbey, 255 - 17th Street, on a decision of the ~. Comm. Planning Commission. Mr. Lawrence Peters, attorney, representi~---- Mr. Dalbey presented the case. After some discussion it was moved by Hamilton and seconded by Anderson to uphold the appeal of Mr. Dalbey and refer the matter back to the Planning Commission. Lions ~. tl!&l Mrs. Leo Van Driessche of 285 Harvard Lane presented a petition of ninety-three signatures in that area requesting bus service to the City. Referred to the City Manager for report. It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Gummere to request the Public Utilities Commission to hold a public hearing in regard I to changing the telephone directories. AYES: NOES: Anderson, Gemmill, Hamilton, Dreis, Gummere None Motion carried. Letter from the City of Stanton requesting an early vote OR flood control facilities was received and filed. It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Anderson to approve the request of O. H. Carson for the elevation of building at 218 Main street. Announcement of the National League of Cities re Congress of Cities, December 2nd to 7th was received and filed. Letter from the Seal Beach Lions Club expressing appraciation for city cooperation in the Lions Club Fish Fry was received and filed. Ordinance Number 689 (Zoning Amending Ordinance 628) was presented by title by the City Manager. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Hamilton to waive the second reading of Ordinance Number 689, that it be deemed as having had its second reading ,I" ,.. and be passed for adoption. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Gummere to authorize the City Manager to execute a Mutual Aid Agreement for fire services with the U. S. Naval Weapons Station, Seal Beach. It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Anderson to accept the recommendation of the Planning Commission Resolution for College Park Sign. It was moved by Dreis and seconded by Anderson to authorize the City Manager to execute a lease (purchase) contract for a 1500 G.P.M. fire pumper and equipment. It was moved by Dreis and seconded by Gemmill to authorize the City Manager to execute a lease (purchase) contract for a 75 foot snorkel ladder truck and equipment.
