October 24, 1966
The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular adjourned
session at 8:00 p.m. with Mayor Gummere presiding. The meeting was
called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Absent:
It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Dreis to approve the
minutes of October 3, 1966, as presented.

Regular demands Number 850 to 985 incl., $34,832.92 and Payroll
demands Number'679 to 798 incl., $29,243.33 totaling $64,076.25 as
approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by
Dreis and seconded by Anderson that the demands be allowed and warrants
drawn on the Treasury for the same.

Mr. Wilkerson of the Automobile Club of Southern California presented

a Safety Award to the City. It was accepted by Chief of Police, Lee

Case.
Mr. Alexis A. Fafenrodt, Attorney for the Standard Oil Company of
Oil
California, addressed the Council, stating that his company had paid

the business license tax for their oil producing business under protest
and outlined his objections. He further requested repeal of Ordinance
Number 681. On advise of the City Attorney, it was moved by Gemmill
and seconded by Anderson to hold the matter in abeyance until a later
date.

Requests for refunds of license paid under Ordinance Number 681 were

denied.

seconded by Gummere to waive the second reading of Ordinance Number
