The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. 1 Present: Absent; Mayor Anderson Councilmen Gummere, Gemmill, Hamilton, Dreis Councilmen - None It was moved'by Hamilton and seconded by Dreis to approve the minutes of the November 6, 1967, regular meeting as corrected. AlES: NOES: Gummere, Gemmill, Hamilton, Dreis, Anderson None Motion carried. Payroll demands #1810 through 1935, $35,578.77, and regular demands #2205 through #2349, $97,599.58 were presented. It was moved by Dreis and seconded by Hamilton that the demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for the same. The City Manager conducted the public hearing on a proposed amendment to Public dhe zoning ordinance which was continued from November 6;:1967, relating Hearin~ to Performance and Development Standards (Service Stations). Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, representing Western Oil and Gas Association, expressed his agreement with Section 1836 (a), (c), ~d)~~'(g), and (h), of the proposed ordiaance. He expressed disagreement with Section 1835, (b), (e), (i), and (j). A lengthy 2-14 discussion followed with the City Engineer and members of the City Council taking part. Mr. Stansky agreed to submit to Council a written statement clarifying his disagreements. Gemmill moved that the public hearing be closed. Gummere seconded the motion. Oil Producers) by title for the second reading. Gemmill moved and 1t734 Dreis seconded to waive the second reading of Ordinance Number 734, that it be deemed,as having had its second reading and passed for adoption. Dr.eis'moved and Gummere seconded the motion to appoint Mr. Barry: City Treas. Morgan as City Treasurer, effective December 1, 1967. The notice regarding the hearing of the Public Utilities Commission on application for fare increases on Gray Tour Lines was presented by the , . City Manager. It was the order of the Mayor t?~eCeiVe and file the notice. The City Manager read a communication from Mayor Curran, San Diego, PUC regarding the State's 200th Anniver~ary. Gemmill suggested that the State's 200th I Mayor request the City Manager to prepare a resolution commemorating I ":". " Anniv. the event. The Mayor proclaimed November 17 to 23 as "Farm City Week." A communication from Southern California Edison Company regarding PUC decision was received and filed. Communication from Rapid Transit District on alternate routing was received and filed. The City Manager presented a communication from the Junior Women's Club Communicatio by Mrs. Roy Steid1ey, commending the Council on their action regarding iTr. Women's parks and recreation center. It was the order of the Mayor to receive Club - and file the letter. A lengthy discussion followed with Council members'discussing the potential liabilities and assets, both in the short and long ten; of the annexation. The City Manager asked_that the Council adjourn to a time and place certain. The Mayor declared a recess for executive personnel session at 9:50 p.m. The meeting reconvened at 10:03 p.m. Gemmill moved to adjourn to Monday, November 27, 1967, 7:30 p.m. Anderson seconded the motion.
