Cit Clerk Seal Beach, California March 4, 1968 The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular session at 8:00 p.m. with Mayor Anderson presiding. The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. ROLL CALL Present: Absent : Mayor Anderson, Councilmen Gemmill, Gummere, Hamilton, Councilmen - None Dreis I MINUTES Hamilton moved, second by Dreis to approve the minutes of February 19, 1968, regular meeting, as presented. AYES: NOES: Anderson, Gemmill, Gummere, Hamilton, Dreis None Motion carried. Payroll demands #2703 through #2830 of $36,997.98; regular demands #3076 through #3148 of $20,162.84, as approved by the Finance Committee, were presented. Dreis moved, second by Gummere, that the demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for the same. , I AYES: NOES: Anderson, Gemmill, Gummere, Hamilton, Dreis None Motion carried. PUBLIC HEARING-ANNEXATION 67-1 The Mayor turned the meeting over to the City Attorney to conduct, the public hearing. The City Attorney declared the public hearing on 253 Annexation 67-1 open. The City Clerk stated that notices had been published in accordance with the law and that ~o communications had been received, for or aga~nst the issue. There was no communicat~on from the audience. The Mayor declared the public hearing closed. I RESOLUTION NO. 1636-ANNEXATION 67-1 The City Attorney presented Resolution Number 1636 to Council by tit1e- "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DETERMINING AND DECLARING THAT UPON THE TERMINATION OF THE PROTEST HEARING HELD PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NUMBER 1635 IN THE 67-1 ANNEXATION A MAJORITY PROTEST HAS NOT BEEN MADE. The City Attorney suggested change in wording of the resolution. After short discussion, Gummere moved, second by Dreis, to adopt Reso1ution'Number 1636 as corrected. SELECTION OF COMMITTEE- UNDERGROUND UTILITIES I It was the decision of Council to appoint the following to the Committee for Study of Undergrounding of Utilities: Terry Barton, Civil Service commission; Mike Knapp, Board of Appeals; Tom Crowley, Planning Commission; the City Manager; the Mayor; the Vice-Mayor; a rep~esentative from General Telephone and a represen- tative from Edison Company. Hamilton moved, second by Gummere, that the Committee for Study of Undergrounding of Utilities consist of these eight members (as ' lis ted above). AYES: NOES: Anderson, Gemmill, Gummere, Hamilton, Dreis None Motton carried. CLAIM-GOLDEN RAIN FOUNDATION 1 The City Attorney presented claim for damages from Golden Rain Foundation, Seal Beach Mutua1s 1 through 16 (13 excluded), and recommended the denial of the claim. Gummere moved, second by Hamilton, to deny the claim, and to refer the matter to our Insurance Carrier and the City Attorney.
