The meeting was called to order with .the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Mayor Nescher . Councilmen: Anderson, Gemmill, Steddom, Gummere Absent: " None " . . It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Gemmill to approve the minutes of February 7, 1966 as presented. AYES: NOES: , . Anderson, Gemmill, Steddam, Nescher None Motion carried. Regular demands No. 9231 to 9325 inclusive, $34,520.47 and payroll demands No. 6194 to 6299 inclusive, $26,533.59, tDtaling $61,054.06 as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved b~ Steddom and seconded by Gummere that the demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury. for the same. A letter from the City of Westminster regarding frequency of meet- ings of the Local Agency Formation Commission was discusse~ and . . the City Manager was requested to answer favorably. . Th8 Mayor proclaimed the month of March 1966 as Red Cross Month. The Mayor proclaimed Mar~h 3rd as Woman's Club Federation Diamond Jubilee Day and the first week in March as Federation Diamond Jubilee Week. Mr. Van Epps requested that the Oouncil act in favor of the present 1.3 ~ - operation of Goldfinger's A-GO-GO. The City Manager read a copy of Gold' a letter fram the PTA addressed to Mr. Smith, objecting to the signs FingE GO City Manager spoke in opposition to the signs and Steddom and the Go "Bare Top" operation as it now exists. . Ordinance No. 679 (Restaurants-Gar.ment Regulations-Urgency) was pre- . sented in full by the City Attorney. It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Anderson to adopt Ordinance No. 679. AYES: NOES: . Industrial Pipeline Construction Co. ,- .. p'. $ 5770.00 ~9l.00 4875.00 5875.00 Upon the recommendation of the Oity Engineer, it was moved by Anderson and seconded by Gummere to award the bid to Pacco Constru- ction and Municipal Pipeline Construction Company, (a joint venture) as the best responsible bidder, to reject all other b~ds and to . authorize the City Manager to execute the contract. Chief of Police Lee Case read a letter from the State commending the Police Department for their participation in the training program and presented the Mayor a check for $2232.76 as the Polic Dept. city's pro-rata share. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Qummere to authorize the City Attorney to attend the City Attorney's Spring Conference at Palm Springs with the necessary expense allowance. City Atty.
