The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular
adjourned session at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Gibbs presiding. The meet-
ing was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

rtequest of the Orange County Association for Mental Health
to solicit funds in the City, April 29th - May 31st 1962 was granted.
Request of the Orange County Heart Association to solicit
funds in the City, February 16th - 17th and 18th, 1962 was granted.
Request of the Girl Scout Council for a Girl Scout Cookie
Sale in the City from February 17th to,March 3rd, 1962 was granted.
Letter of protest from the First Assembly of God Church
against the issuance of a license for the proposed "~arina Palace"
was received and filed. The Mayor stated that the Seal Beach P.T.A.
had passed a resolution of protest.
Letter from Rossmoor Leisure. World requesting pe.rmission
for the Southern California Water Company to provide them with

fresh water service was. discussed at length. Water rates and water
usage were among the topics discussed. Action deferred for further
study.
Resolution No. 1155 (West Or.ang@ County Water Board) was
presented by the City Manager. It was moved by Flanagan and seconded
by Jones to appoint Ernest E. Brashear to represent the City as a
member of the Board of the West Orange County Water Board.

It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Gemmill to adopt
Resolution No. 1155.

Bid prices for two police cars were presented by the
City Manager. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Jones to
accept the bid of Groth Chevrolet Company for two Cars at $2456.38
per unit.

The City Manager stated that application had been made
to the Orange County Boundary Commission for a proposed annexation
as it concerns the North Americwn Aviation Company building project.
It was moved by Jones and seconded by Gemmill to authorize
the City Manager to advertise for bids for parking meters for the
Eighth Street parking lot.

Mr. Jones stated that the parkways on Bolsa Avenue in the
subdivision were badly in meed of attention. Referred to the City
Manager.
Mr. Jones asked if the North East Street Improvement District
was complete and accepted in the City, as there were some streets in
doubtful condition. The City Manager to check out.

Mr. Jones reported attendance at a regular meeting of the
Orange County Coastal Transportation Committee.
Mr. Leonard inquired about replacement of certain trees on
Main Street. The City Manager reported that the trees had bee~
ordered but as yet suitable trees had not arrived.
Mayor Gibbs announced dates of several county and regional
meetings of interest to the City.
The Mayor stated she had received complaints about the St.
lack of white lines on Electric Avenue. Referred to the City Manager.
The clean up of the beach was also referred to the City
Manager.
It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Jones to adjourn
at 9:20 P.M.
