adjourned session at 7:30'P.M. with Mayor Gibbs presiding. The

meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

This being the time and place, the City Council canvassed

the vote of the General and Special Election of April lOth.
Resolution No. 1171 (Election - General Municipal, April
10, 1962, Results) was presented by the City Attorney. It was
moved bU Leonard and seconded by Jones to adopt Resolution No. 1171.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DECLAR-
rNG THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS OF ELECTION
RETURNS OF SPECIAL BOND ELECTION. HELD
IN SAID CI~ ON APRIL.IO, 1962.
The City Council of the City of Seal Beach, CRlifornia,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE,. DETERMINE AND ORDER as" follows:

Section 1. That a special bond election was duly called
and regularly held, in said city on the 10th day of,April, 1962,
at which election there was submitted to the qualified voters of
said city the following proposition, to wit:
BOND PROPOSITION: Shall the City of
Seal Beach incur a bonded indebtness
in the principal amount of $750,000.00
for the purpose of the acquisition and
construction by the city of a certain
municipal improvement, to wit: additions
to and improvements of the water system
of the city, specifically including
water transmission' pipelines, a new
main reservoir and an~interest in a
water transmission pipeline, to be
used jointly with other public'corpora-
tions, for the transmission of water from
the Metropm~itan Water District of
Southern California, and including the
acquisition of land, rights of way, ease-
ments, pipe, pumps, valves, fittings,
meters, machinery, equipment and other
property necessary therefor?
Section 2. That the returns of said election have been
duly and regularly canvassed by this City Council' as provided by
law, and all absentee ballots received have been counted and can-
vassed as provided by lay.
Section 3. That. the votes cast in.the .prectnots established

all the voters voting at said election were cast in favor of the
adoption of said bond proposition, and said bond proposition is
hereby declared to be carried, and this City Council is authorized

Mrs. Gibbs reported receiving a letter from the City of
Newport, New Hampshire, seeking information regarding the rdnctions
and operations of the City.
The City Manager read a letter of resignation effective
June 15th. It was moved by Gibbs and seconded by Leonard that the
resignation of Mr. Brashear be accepted as outlined.
