The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. . Present: Mayor Gemmill Councilmen: Nescher, Leonard Absent; n Anderson, Gibbs " It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Leonard to accept the "John P. Kenney Report" and approve the final payment. AYES: ABSENT: Nescher, Leonard, Gemmill Anderson, Gibbs Motion carried. Mrs. Gibbs arrived at 7:50 P.M. Mr. Anderson arrived at 7:55 P.M. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Gibbs that copies Kennejl of the "Kenney Report" be distributed to the Council, City Officials, Civil Service 'Commission, the Press and the balance on a first come, first serve basis. Report - . AYES: NOES: Nescher, Anderson, Gibbs, Leonard, Gemmill None Motion carried. Pier, beach and street litter and the closing of the beach BCh. at midnight were discussed with Acting Chief of Police Harbour. He stated that he would like two weeks to work out the problems without extra cost of personnel. He recommended that more trash barrels be placed on paths of travel. The Council requested a written report on the use of and the number of life guards on duty. Mrs. Gibbs was excused at 8:35 P.M. Life Guardl It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Anderson that the Life City Council has made findings required by Sections 25551 and 25552 Glolardl of the Government Code of the State of Ca~irornia, and that the Mayor .:. A recess was held to permit an informal discussion with members of the Junior Chamber of Commerce about their proposed carnival in August. L184 It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Leonard that Clarence Smiths' sick leave be extended to his date of employment. AYES: ABSENT: Nescher , Anderson, Leonard, Gemmill Gibbs Motion carried. It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Anderson to install power steering on the street sweeper at a cost of $299.00. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: I Nescher, Leonard Gibbs Anderson, Gemmill Motion carried. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by NesCh?r to adjourn at 9:45 P.M. until Monday, July 23, 1962 at 7:30 P.M. Present: Mayor Gemmill" C?uncilmen: Neacher, Anderson, G~bbs, Leonard Absent: " None " Mayor Gemmill reported meeting with George Hill of the State Highway Division on Friday and Willis Warner, County Super- ~isor on Saturday, relative to the San Gabriel Freeway hearing. It was decided that the same type of,presentation be made at the July 24th hearing. The propo~ed progr~ was outlined and approved. Resolution No. 1184 (Elections Results- Garbage Colleotion) was presented by the City Clerk. It was moved by Anderson and seconded I by Nescher to adopt Resolution No. 1184.
