California January 7. 1963 Tne City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular session at 8:00 P.M. with Mayor Gemmill presiding. The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Sully-Miiler Construction Co. 2. Wonderly Construction Co. $2348.40 $2594.25 Dept !lli!! The bids wer~ referred to the City Engineer and Director of Public 't! l Works for;analysis and report. The following bids for pier lease were opened; I. Seal Beach Sportfishing Pier. $25.000 per year on - twenty-five year lease. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Anderson: that the bid be referred to the City Manager and City !!!! 120 St. Dept. Reso. 1207 Attorney for study and report at the next meeting. U~on'the recommendation of the City Engineer and Director of Public Works, it was moved by Andersonrand seconded by Gibbs to accept the bid of Sully-Miller for the improvement of a portion of Bay Boule- vard at $2348.40. that all other bids be rejected and that the City Manager be authorized to execute a proper contract. Copy of an application for a new Veterans Club liquor license was discussed and received and f'iled. '. Application of the American Legion for a dance hall license at 5 Coast Highway was discussed at length. Further action was de- f'erred to a study session to be held at 7:00 P.M. January 8, 1963, to study proposals as suggested by the City Attorney. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Gibbs to table the application until the next regu~ar meeting and to instruct the City Clerk to request all department heads to file a written report and to attend the next meeting. Mr: Leonard asked about the street tree planting program in portions of the subdivision. Program underway. Mr. Leonard also asked about reinstallation of parking meters on the parking lots. The fifty cen meters are now installed on the 8th and 10th Street lots. Mr: Brackenbury requested immediate action on the American Legion dance hall application. The Mayor stated action would be I taken as soon as possible. The City Master Plan was briefly discussed. The City Manager reported that at a recent meeting of the West Orange County Water Board. all cities were in agreement on the location of the feeder water line.routing.
