The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. The invocation was given by Rev. ~. uohn Gillis. First Brethren Church. Present: Mayor Gemmill Councilmen: Nescher. Payroll demands No. 7588 to 7656 inclusive and regular demands No. 2682 to 2746 inclusive, less No. 2671 (void) totaling $25.068.67 were presented as approved by the Pinance Committee. Letter from the American Legion announcing teen-age dances at their Community Center. February 15th and 16th was received and filed. Letter from Mrs. Zemnick commending the life guards was received and filed. Letter from R. B. The City Manager stated that he was 8ware of the condition and it would be remedied. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Nescher that the Director of Public Works survey all alleys in the City for improve- ment where needed. AYES: ABSENT: Nescher. Anderson. Leonard. In regard to a letter from the Seal Beach News about legal advertising. the City Attorney requested that any action be\withheld until certain records are received from the County Clerk. Letter from the Planning Commission recommending the em- ployment of Design Associates Inc. to prepare and complete a gener~l plan for the City was discussed. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Gemmill to employ Design Associates I~c.. subject to their proposal and Federal 701 Planning Assistance Program. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: ABSTAIN Leonard.
