Jim Jackson reported that the voter registration in the Char
City was 4896 in January 1963, and that there are now 5500 residents, '

session at 8:00 p.m. with Mayor Gemmill presiding. The meeting was

Orange'County Supervisor Baker urged the defeat of
Senate Bill 1310 (Welfare) as it conflicts with county interests.

Mr. Baker offered his services to the City in regard to
future State Freeway programs.
Mr. ~ak8r stated that legislative zoning control near
highways as qpposed to local control was not in the best interest of
cities and cou~~ies'~nd that a meet~ng ~o~ld be held in Washington D.C.

June 27. 1963.
