The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Mayor Gemmill Councilmen: Anderson, Leonard. Bay City It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Leonard to declare the hearing.continued until June 24. 1963 at 8:00 p.m. AYES: NOES: Nescher, Anderson. Leonard. Grisweld. Gemmill None .Motion carried. It was moved by Griswold and seconded by Nescher to approve the minutes of June 3rd and lOth 1963 as presented. AYES: NOES: Nescher. Anderson, Leonard, Griswold, Gemmill None Motion carried. Payroll demands for June 1. 1963s No.8106 to 8187 inClusive. . $13.14.5.75 and for June 17. 1963. No. 8188 to 8269 inclusive,$21,422.94 and regular demands No. 3172 to.3245. $37,910.35 as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. Letter from the Republican Women of Seal Beach Federated. requesting the ringing of bells as part of the July 4th celebration was referred to the City Manager for the preparation of a proper resolution. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Griswold that the City Council file a protest against the issuance of the license because of the location on the beach front. the location of adjacent apartments and the Licer number of minors in the area. 170 St. Dept. Referred to the City Manager. It was.moved by Leonard and seconded.by Anderson to instruct the City Attorney to.prepare an ordinance regulating the length of time garbage and trash containers could be left in parkways. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Griswold to adopt.Resolution No. 1238. AYES: NOES: Nescher. Anderson, Leonard. Griswold, Gemmill None Motion carried. Resolution No. 1239 (Demolition of ~nsafe Structure) was presented by the City Manager., It was ,moved by Griswold and seconded by Leonard ~o adopt Resolution No. 1239. AYES: NOES: Nescher, Anderson, Leonard, Griswold, Gemmill None Motion carried. The Mayor declared a five minute rece~s. The meeting reconvened at 9:40 p.m. The City Clerk's statement of sufficiency of signatures for the proposed ot.f-street parking district was presented. The City Mana- ger presented his report. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Griswold that the City Council finds that based on the formula set ~'o,;" forth in the petition the amount required to be contributed by the City will not exceed $1200.00 per yea~ and that the City agrees to I 171' make such a contribution. It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Anderson that the City Council makes a finding and determines that in the public interest and necessity that parking meters in the proposed district be installed I and maintained by the City and in accordance with this finding. the City Council agrees that the City shall install and maintain such parking meters according to Sec. 35256 of the Street and Highways Park. - Dist.
