The City Coun0il of the City of Seal Be ach met in regular
session at 8:00 p.m. with Mayor Gemmill presiding. The meeting was
called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

requesting the ringing of bells as part of the July 4th celebration
was referred to the City Manager for the preparation of a proper
resolution.

by Anderson and seconded by Griswold that the City Council file a
protest against the issuance of the license because of the location
on the beach front. the location of adjacent apartments and the

the streets. Referred to the City Manager.

the City Attorney to.prepare an ordinance regulating the length of time
garbage and trash containers could be left in parkways.

The meeting reconvened at 9:40 p.m.
The City Clerk's statement of sufficiency of signatures for
the proposed ot.f-street parking district was presented. The City Mana-
ger presented his report. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by
Griswold that the City Council finds that based on the formula set ~'o,;"
forth in the petition the amount required to be contributed by the
City will not exceed $1200.00 per yea~ and that the City agrees to

make such a contribution.

It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Anderson that the
City Council makes a finding and determines that in the public interest
and necessity that parking meters in the proposed district be installed

and maintained by the City and in accordance with this finding. the
City Council agrees that the City shall install and maintain such
parking meters according to Sec. 35256 of the Street and Highways
Park.

was discussed with action deferred for further study. It was moved
by Leonard and seconded by Gemmill that the. City Council members
and the City Manager be authorized to. go to San Francisco to discuss
