The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. . Present: Mayor Gemmill .Councilmen: Nescher., Anderson, Leonard, Griswold Absent: .. " None . Thi s being the time for $750,000 bonds designated and place fixed for the opening of bids . "Water Bonds, 1963". The following bids . received pursuant to the notice of sale. were publicly opened, examined and read: . 1. I The Mayor declared a recess for this purpose. The meeting reconvened at 8:40 p.m. The Mayor:stated that the results of the bond bid would be held over until 6:30 p.m~ July 16. 1963. Regular demands No. 3320 to 3377 inclusive, totaling $54,166.60 as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. The City Attorney advised the Council not to hear further discussion in the matter because of the pending public hearing. The City Attorney presented a proposed r~solution of in- tention to ~or.m a parking district to the Council for study. The proposed City Charter was discussed to finalize any Biyu Park. The City Manager reported on the recent bids for fire equipment and recommended the bid of Mardlaw Fire Equi~ment Co.. at $20.659.00. base prive. Upon the recomme~ation of the City Engineer. it was moved by Nescher and seconded by Griswold to authorize the City Engineer to advertise for bids for a pumping booster station for water reservoir. Griswold Absent: " " knderson The committee appointed to oheck and compute the bids on the bonds for which bids were-opened previously, ,reported that the bid of the Security First National Bank is the bid yielding the lowest net interest cost. After"considering the various bids and the report thereon, it was moved by Nescher and seconded by Griswold that Resolution No. 1250 entitled "RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH. CALIFORNIA, AWARDING $750,000 BONDS OF SAID CITY TO THE BEST BIDDER AND REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS". be adopted. Upon the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Councilmen: 11 " " " Griswold.
