California July 16, 1963 The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular adjourned session at 6:30 p.m. with Mayor Gemmill presiding. The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. P~esent: Mayor Gemmill Councilmen: Nescher. Leonard. Griswold Absent: " " knderson The committee appointed to oheck and compute the bids on the bonds for which bids were-opened previously, ,reported that the bid of the Security First National Bank is the bid yielding the lowest net interest cost. After"considering the various bids and the report thereon, it was moved by Nescher and seconded by Griswold that Resolution No. 1250 entitled "RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH. CALIFORNIA, AWARDING $750,000 BONDS OF SAID CITY TO THE BEST BIDDER AND REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS". be adopted. Upon the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Councilmen: 11 " " " Griswold. Gemmill Nescher. Leonard. None Anderson said Resolution No. 1250 was declared adopted. Upon the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Leonard that the bid of Wardlaw Fire Equipment Company. of $20.659.00 base price be awarded. that all other bids be rejected and that the Mayor and City Clerk be autho- rized to execute said contract. AYES: ABSENT: Nescher. Leonard. Griswoldr, Gemmill Anderson Motion carried. Letter from the Seal Beach Volunteer Fire Department electing W. S. Knighton, Fire Chief for the 1963-64. was received and filed. It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Griswold to concur 181 Water Bonds: Reso. 1250 Fire EQu1 Fire Dept. West with the Board of Supervisors by approving their Resolution No. 0 C g. c 63-908. which approves Resolution No. 43-63 of the West Orange countY~8t1r 182 Council Reso. 1251 Civil Rip;hts reI Water Board with limitations. AYES: ABSENT: Nescher. Leonard. Griswold. Gemmill Anderson Motion carried. It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Griswold that the City Councilmen shall be paid mileage at the rate of 10~ per mile for travel on official city business, outside the city. AYES : ABSENT: Ne~cher, Leonard. Griswold, Gemmill Anderson Motion carried. Resolution No. 1251 (Parking District - Intention) was presented by the City Manager. It Was moved by Leonard and seconded by Nescher to adopt Resolution No. 1251. .A:YES: ABSENT: Nescher, Leonard. Griswold, Gemmill Anderson Motion carried.
