The meeting was called to order with the Pledge or Allegiance. Present: Mayor Anderson Councilmen: Nescher. Gemmill; Griswold. Gummere I Absent: n None " It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Griswold to approve the minutes of January 18th and 26th 196$ as presented. AYES: NOES : Nescher, Gemmill, Griswold, Gummere, Anderson None Motion earried. The Mayor announced that this was the time for a public hearing of protests to the abatement of weeds. Mrs. Sadler or l40-l42 l4th Street announced that she would do her own cleaning. A letter from Mr. and Mrs. Myr9n Green favoring the closing ot Catalina Avenue at Bay Boulevard and a letter from Mr. and Mrs. STREE~ Max Smith opposing the closing were acknowledged. Mr. Gemmill stated Dept. that when the proper ordinance is presented, thereWlll be two read- ings and ilti that time both sides would be heard. It was moved by Gemmill that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare an ordinance to close Catalina Avenue at Bay Bout'evard. " Motion witndrawn. After considerable discussion it was moved by G8mm1l1 and - Pol-an seconded by Griswold to notify the Planning Commission of receipt 0' their R!solutioD No.7. and to accept the findings as stated and to instrUct the City Attorney to prepare a proper ordinance. Avenue was held' with members of the audience, the City Council and Cit.y Manager t..king part. The Council was advised that the City Attorney had prepared an ordinance closing Catalina Avenue to be presented at the,next meeting. The Mayor declared a five minute recess. The City Manager reported that the Artificial Fishing Fish, " Reef had been approved and is now up to the legislature for final approval and appropriation.
