HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Min 1965-03-01 332 Seal Beach, California March 1, 1965 The City Council of the City of Seal ,Beach met in regular session at.8:00 p.m. with Mayor Anderson presiding. The meeting was oalled to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Mayor Anderson Councilmen Nescher, Gemmill, Griswold, Gummere Absent: None It was moved by Gummere and seconded 'by Griswold to approve the minutes of February 15, 1965, as corrected pertaining to a minute of silenoe in respecttto Chief Wendall Snyder. I AYES: NOES: Nescher, Gemmill, Griswold, Gummere, Anderson None Motion carried. Regularaemands No. 7277 through 7321 and payroll demands No. 3692 through 3885, totaling $56,239.80, asapproved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Gemmill that the demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the treasury for the same. AYES: NOES: Nesoher, Gemmill, Griswold, Gummere, Anderson None Motion carried. I Plan. After some diecussion it was moved by Nescher and seconded by Gemmill that in regard to a letter from the Pi~nning Commission concerning off-street parking in the 200 Block on Main Street that the City Manager arrange a meeting with busin~ss men and the Chamber of Commerce regarding parking and the City Manager to make reoommenda- tions to the City Council. Comm. AYES: NOES: Nescher, None Gemmill, Griswold, Gummere, Anderson Motion carried. :>rd. Mrs. Clyde Rife complained about Denting apartments on Ocean Avenue for weekend parties. Referred to the City Manager. Ordinance No. 657 (Catalina Avenue - closing) was pre- sented by title by the City Attorney. It was moved by Griswold and seconded by Gemmill to waive the second reading of Ordinance No. 657, that it be deemed as having had its seoond reading and be passed for adoption. I ~57 ......... It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Griswold that Ordinanoe No. 658 having had its first reading be passed to the second reading. Ord. 658 ~YES : NOES: Nescher, Gemmill, Griswold, Gummere, Anderson None Motion carried. Ordinance No. 659 (Annexation 64-1- zoning) was presented in full by the City Attorney. It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Gummere that Ordinance No. 659 having had its first reading be Ord. 2a... passed to the second reading. & general diecussion of recreational areas and community buildings followed. The vote on the motion was as follows: AYES: NOES: Nescher, Gemmill, Griswold, Gummere, Anderson None Motion carried. It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Griewold that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to execute an agreement for mutual fire protection, with the City of Westminster. Fire Dept. It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Nescher to accept for recording an easement from Golden Rain Foundation for water , . It was moved by Gemmill and seconded Franchise by Nescher that the City Manager and ,the City Attorney be itietructed Ga.s Line Or. Co. Flood Control District to work out new te~s with Standard~as Company and Standard Oil C~pany similar to the franchiee with Humble Oil Company. It was moved by Gummere and seconded by Gemmill that the City Manager, at his discretion, be authorized to execute a pe~it with the Orange County Flood Control District for Tracts 5847 and 5723.
