The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Mayor Pro tem Griswold Councilmen: Nescher, Gemmill, Gummere Absent: Mator Anderson It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Gummere that the minutes of March 15, 1965 be approved as corrected, page 338,. insert Gemmill in place of Gummere. AYES: ABSENT: Nescher, Gemmill, Gummere, Griswold Anderson Motion carried. This being,the time and place for a public hearing on the granting of a franchise to Standard Gas Company, there being no protests either written or oral, the Mayor Pro tem declared the hearing cloeed. Ordinance No. 658 (Water Deposit) was presented in full by,the City Manager. It was moved by Nescher and. seconded by Gummere that Ordinance No. 658, having had its seoond and final reading, be passed for adoption. It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Gummere that Ordinance No. 659, having had its second and final reading, be passed for adoption. AYES : ABSENT: Nescher, Gemmill, Gummere, Griswold Anderson Motion carried. Ordinance No. 660 (Southern Counties Gas Company FranChise) was presented by title by the City Manager. It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Nescher to waive the second reading of Ordinance No. 660, that it be deemed as having had its second reading and be passed for adoption. 1 AYES : ABSENT: Nescher, Gemmill, G.ummere, Griswold Anderson Motion carried. 1 Ordinance No. 661 (Standard Gas Company Franchise) was presented by title by the City Manager. It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Nescher to waive the first reading of Ordinance No. 661, that it be deemed as having had its first reading and be passed to the second reading. AYES: ABSENT: Nescher, Gemmill, Gummere, Griswold Anderson Motion carried. Acceptance of easements for road and public utility purposes from Woodbine Corporation and the Fred H. Bixby Company to the City were referred back to the City Manager for clarification. It was moved by Gummere and seconded by Gemmill that the claims of Humble Oil and Refining Company for $13,265.1l and $10.66 be denied. It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Gummere that the Mayor and Qity Clerk be authorized to execute a lease with the Standard Oil Company at a'rental of $13,000 per year, to become 341 effective on the effective date of Ordinance No. 661. The City Manager's salary survey was discussed with action deferred for further study. ,T~e City Managers' long range acquisition program for parks, play grou~ds, water and sewer treatment facilities, library and oivic center was discussed with no definite action taken.
