City ~ Reso. 1390 Seal Beach, California July 12, 1965 The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular , adjourned session at 8:00 p.m. with Mayor Griswold presiding. The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. , Present: Mayor Griswold Councilmen: Nescher, Anderson, Gummere Absent; n n Gemmill It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Gummere to approve the minutes of June 28, 1965 as presented. I AYES : ABSENT: Nescher, Anderson, Gummere, Griswold Gemmill Motion carried. Regular demands No. 7938 to 7993 inclusive, $19,865.30 and payroll demands No. 4593 to 4707 inclusive, .2J,321~38, total- . ing $43.186.68 as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Nescher that the demands , be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for the same. AYES: ABSENT: Nescher, Anderson, Gummere, Griswold Gemmill Motion carried. Letters of appreoiation for the July 4th Fireworks display , were received. and filed. It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Anderson that the members of the City Council, the City Manager and City Attorney be authorized to attend the annual Conference of the League of California Cities in San Francisco in October. I AYES: ABSENT: Nescher, Anderson, Gummere, Griswold Gemmill Motion carried. Mr. Skinner of 125 6th Street asked about a parking district in his area. He was advised of the procedure in setting up districts. , A proposed ordinance amending Chapter 11, Chapter 7~ and Chapter 15 of the Code of the City by changing the definition of Entertainment Cafe; prohibiting minors from entering therein; and prohibiting dances on premises licensed under the Alcholic Beverage Control Act, was referred back to the 'City Attorney. Resolution No. l390 (Bank Signatures - Bank of America) was presented by the City Attorney. It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Gummere to adopt Hesolution No. 1390. It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Gummere to instruct the City Manager to proceed along the lines set forth in a letter from N~rth American Aviation, Incorporated, and letters from the City Manager; to file the necessary papers with the Orange County Boundlry Commission, the Local Agenc~ Fo~ation Commission and to direct the Planning Commiesion to commenoe pr~-zoning procedures. It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Gummere to authorize the Mayor to execute an Orange County Road Department agreement for acquiSition of Bolsa Chica right-of-way. It wa& moved by Anderson and seconded by Nescher to ratify the City Council in electing xhe Mayor. and Mayor Pro-tem at its meeting of June 28, 1965. I It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Anderson to authorize Mayor Griswold to represent the City on the Orange County Sanitation District No. 3 Board with Mayor Pro-tem Lloyd Gummere as alternate. AYES: ABSENT: Nescher, Anderson, Gummere, Griswold Gemmill Motion carried. Reports of the City Treasurer and Building Department for June 1965 and the annual report of the Fire Department were received and tiled. The City Attorney was ~xcused at 9:10 p.m. The 1965-66 budget was discussed. It was moved by Nescher and seconded by Anderson to authorize the purchase of one acre adjacent to and for the im- provement of the City, Yard. After considerable discussion it was moved by Anderson and seconded by Gummere to table the motion to the next meeting. Bixby Hanch Company to the City tor street and utility purposes; those streets that are not a part of Tentative Tract Map 5699.
