The Mayor appointed members of the Council to make
trophy presentations for the various activities of the Golden
Jubilee.
The Public Works Department,reports for the months
of May and June 1965 were received and tiled.
Mr. Nescher gave a brief report on the recent meeting
of the West Orange County Water Board.

adjourn at 9:45 p.m.

The City Coun~il of the City of Seal Beach met in regu-
lar session at 8:00 p.m. with Mayor Griswold presiding. Th~
meeting was called to order with ,the Pledge of AllegIance.

The Mayor stated that this was the time for an a~peal
hearing on ?lanning Commission action; denial of request tor
reduction of rear yard set back from the required 10 feet to
6 feet; Harvey Webb, 701 Taper Drive. Speaking in favor of the,
appeal were Mrs. Moore, 701 Taper Drive, Mrs. Betz, 644 Taper Drive,
Miss Campbell, 705 Taper Drive, Mrs. Nelle, 633 Taper Drive and
David Copp" 1300 Catalina A~enue. Mr. Webb addressed the Council

the Mayor declared the hearing closed. It was moved by Anderson

A special Grand Sweepstakes award was p~esented to
Sta~ley Anderson and Eddie kllen for representing the city in the
July 4th parade at Huntington Beach.
A resolution from the California State Assembly commending
the City on it1s 50th Anniversary was 'also presented.

the minutes of August 2, 1965 as presented.

$116,038.01 were presented. It was moved by Nescher and seconded by
Anderson that the demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the
Treasury for' the same with the exception of demand No. 8182 for
$2512.12.

Dr. Sutter Kunkel questioned the Council in regard to the

findings ot the majority of the Council.

by the City Attorney. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by

be deemed as having had its second reading and be passed tor
adoption.

the bid of Nadar Company at $ll8,480 in behlaf of the City for the
community swimming pool and to modify our agreement with the School
District.
