Seal Beach, California September 20, 1965 The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular session at 8:00.p.m. with Mayor Pro-tem Gummere presiding. The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Mayor Pro-tem Gummere Councilmen: Anderson, Gemmill, St~ddom Absent: Mayor Nescher It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Steddom to approve the minutes of September 10th and 13th 1965 as presented. AYES: ABSENT: Anderson, Gemmill, Steddom, Gummere Nescher Motion carried. Regular demands No. 8393 to 8433 inclusive, $56,737.83 and payroll demands No. 5155 to 5267 inclusive, $34,45Q.27, totaling $91,188.10 as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It wae moved by Anderson and seconded by Gellllll11l that the demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for t he same. It was moved by Gemmill and seconded by Anderson to waive the second reading of Ordinance No. 664, that it be deemed as having had its second reading and be passed for adoption. A letter of protest from Mrs. Violet M~Farland was read by Mr. Bettancourt. Mrs. MeFarland also addressed the council in.regard to her protest. Mrs. Clyde Rife spoke in favor, of the II ordinance. Mrs. Rita Herron, president of the Chamber of Commerce spoke in favor of the ordinance as it concerns the future of the city. Mayor Nescher said that the proposed ordinance was for todays problems. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Steddom to waive the eecond reading of Ordinance No. 669. that it be deemed as having had its second reading and be paesed for adoption. Works outlined his request to establish a No Parking Zone on Bolsa Avenue, from Pacific Coast Highway to Bay Boulevard.
