The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Mayor Nescher Councilmen: Anderson, Steddom, Gummere A:'bsent: " " Gemmill It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Gummere to approve the minutes of an a djourned meeting held November 20, 1965 as pre- sented. AYES: ABSENT: Anderson, Steddom, Gummere, Nescher Gemmill Motion carried. Regular demands No. 8759 to 8857 inclusive, $6,765.53 and payroll demands No. 5574 to 5780 inclusive, $49,683.57, totaling $56,449.10 as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Gummere that the demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for the same. AYES : ABSENT: Anderson, Steddom, Oummere, Neecher Gemmill Motion carried. A letter from Mr. Clarence R. Williams of this city ex- POliCE pressing appreciation to a police officer for his courtesy and help Dept. was read. It wae moved by Nescher and secondee by Anderson to receive and file the letter. AYES: ABSENT: Anderson, Steddom, Gummere, Nescher Gemmill Motion carried. Notice of the Orange County League of Cities Executive meeting, December 9, 1965 was discussed. The meeting comflicts Og. Count: with a local meeting to discuss the Master Plan. Leagul It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Steddom to receive and file & notice .of ABC application, beer and wine off-sale, Safeway !!Q..... stores Incorporated, 110l Pacific Coast Highway. AYES: ABSENT: Anderson, Steddom, Gummere, Nescher Gemmill Motion carried. Notice ot the Governors' Conference on California beauty was received and filed. . Those wishing to attend are authorized to do so. 404 Planning Commission minutes of November 3rd and 24th, concerning height restrictions in M 1 zone were discussed. The Mayor set the next regular meeting of December 20, 1965 as the date for a public hearing. Mr. Gemmill arrived during the discussion of the above at 8:23 p.m. After some discussion it was moved by Anderson and seconded by Gemmill to approve the report and request for progrem change to purchase. rather than lease a beach patrol unit for the Police Department. After some discussion of the report and request of policy considerations: 8th and lOth street beach 'parking lots. removal of parking meters 8th street lot, 8th Street entrance and iOth Street exit, the report was received and filed. It was moved by Anderson and seconded by Gemmill to adopt for recognition purposes a new city seal as presented by the Pu~lic Works Department. A report of the recent Housing Home Financing Agency R~gional meeting held in &an Francisco recently was made by Council- AYES: NOES: men Anderson and qummere and by the City Manager. A city wide Beautification Program to tie in with the above financing program was discussed at length. It was moved by Gemmill and seconqed by Anderson to direct the City Manager to report to the Council on a g~neral plan incorporating a program of plans and priorities for the city. , '. .AYES: NOES: Anderson, Gemmill, Steddom, Uummere, Nescher None Motion carried. . Recent.activities of the Orange. County League of Cities and a letter trom the City of Fountain Valley regarding .these activities was discussed. Mr. Gemmill reported a recent organizational meeting o~ SCAG, held in Riverside, California.
