The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in
regular session at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Calvo presiding. The
meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes of the regular meeting of December 18th,
1956 were read and .a~proved on the Mayor1s motion. ,
Heports of the Police, Building, License, water and
Tax Departments for the month of December, 1956 were presented.
It was moved by Tancre and seconded by Ross to receive and file
the City Officers reports.

Letter from the Seal Beach School District in regard
to consideration of the easement dedication, calling attention
to various points which they believe uncompleted. After con-
siderable discussion, it w.as agreed to meet with the School
Board at their regular meeting January 8, 1957 at 6:30 P.M.
Mr. -Flanagan was excused at 8:40 P.M.
Eleven letters signed by 14 residents of the area in-
volved, protesting the present route of the Greyhound Buses were
read and discussed. The Clerk was instructed to contact the
Greyhound Lines. Traffic Manager. for.a meeting with a committee
of Ross, Flana3an and Trygg to discuss the matter.
Announcement of the Executive Committee meeting of the
Orange County League of Cities on January 10, 1957 was received
and filed.

The Clerk announced that the public hearing of the Bank
of belmont S~ore for a branch in Seal Beach had been postponed
until January 21, 1957.
Letter from the Orange County Planning Commission relative
to a proposed. coastal freeway was referred to Mr. Trygg for more
information.and a large scale map.

Ordinance No. 236.
Street Lightin& Proposal for Highway 101. Mr. Trygg
presented the proposed plan and estimated costs.

Reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for the
month of December 1956 were presented. It was moved by Spencer
and seconded by Tancre to receive and file the City Officers
reports.
