The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in
I'egular session at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Calvo presiding. The
meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.
The minutes of the regular meeting of January 2, 1957
were read and "approved on the Mayor's motion.
Reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for the
month of December 1956 were presented. It was moved by Spencer
and seconded by Tancre to receive and file the City Officers
reports.

Demands numbering 4934 to 4996 inclusive. totaling
$10,488.97 as approved by the'Finance Committee were presented.
It was moved by Flanagan'and seconded by noss that the demands

The Clerk reported that he had met with Ross,
Trygg and Mr. French.of the Greyhound Lines in regard to the

numerous complaints about the presen~ route of the bus line.
After discussing the complaints and possible re-ro~ting, Mr.
Fz'ench said his company would make a further survey and report
back.
The Clerk.stated that the interest accrued on the
Signal Oil bonus of $112,753.58 had amounted to $4?5.95 from
August 8, 1956 to January 1, 1957.
Upon the request of Mr. Hoss, the Clerk reported
that from July, 1955 to date that the franchise tax from
the Mont~rey Oil Company, had amounted to $9,272.97.
Letter from the Seal Beac~ Girl Scout Community
Committee, Mrs. David H. Connel~, Px'esident, requesting a
25 yea~ renewal of their lease on Lots'47 and 49, Block
106, Bay City Tract, to permit them to enlarge their facil-
ities. ~t was moved by Tancre and seconded by Spencer to
approve the renewal of the lease subject to drafting of

A c~py of a portion of the minutes of the Board of
Supervisors stateing our. request for a participation program
for drainage problems was referred to the Flood Control Engi-
neer for study and report. Mr. Trygg reported that he had heard
from the County Engineer that action has been. started by his
department.
Arter a lengthly discussion relative to the easement
problems at the McGaugh school site, it was moved by noss and
seconded by Spencer that the City Attorney be authorized and
directed to write the School Board for definite information
regarding their demands.

the tempo~ary Recreation Commission of Margurette Heinsohn, Virginia

Maurice Richmond to be ex-officio members.
