The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regu-
lar session at 7:30 p.m. with Mayor Calvo presiding. The ~eeting
was called to order.with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Calvo announced that the first order of business
would be the sale of certain tax deeded lots at auction. City
Attorney Robert Buck explained the terms and conditions of the

After the completion of the sale, it was moved by Tancre
and seconded by Flanagan that the Mayor and City Clerk be authori-

The minutes of the regular meeting of February. 5, 1957
were read and approved on the Mayor's motion.
. Reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for the
month of January, 1957, and the Fire Chief for the calendar year,
1956 were presented. It was moved by Spencer and seconded by
Tancre that the City Officers reports be received and. filed.

Demands numbering 5082 to 5139 inclusive, totaling
$13.531.54 as approved by the Finance Committee were presented.
It was moved by Flanagan and seconded by Spencer that the demands

Resolution No. 950 (Weed Abatement) was presented by title
by the City Attorney. It was moved by Spencer and seconded by

Letter from the County of Orange, Highway and Planning
Departments requesting a survey by the State Highway Department

for an alternate coastal highway was referred to the City Attorney
Dept.
for prepaTation of a resolution of approval.
Letters from the Seal Beach School District addressed
to the City Council and City Attorney relative to the easement
dedication, were discussed at length. The City Engine~r was
~nstructed to remove the fence where needed, to store the fence
for further use and to bill the subdivider for the ~ork providing
the work has not been started by February 25th.
Mr'. Buck presented a new lease as requested .for the
Girl Scout Property. It was moved by Tancre and saconded by
Spencer that the Mayor and CLty Clerk be authorized to execute
the lease on behalf of the City.

Letter from Dr. Edw. Lee Russell, Orange County Health

Officer relative to setting up immunization clinics for polio-
myelitis in Orange County cities, other than the school program.
The Clerk was instructed to reply, offering the use of the Youth
Center for such clinics when needed.
Announcement of the Orange County League of Cities
Executive Committee meeting, February 21, 1957, Orange, was
received and filed.
Announcement of the regular monthly meeting of the
Orange County League of Cities, February 25, 1957, LaHabra, was
received and filed.
Announcement of the regular monthly meeting of the
Associated Chambers of Commerce, February 26, 1957, Disneyland
Hotel, Anaheim. was received and filed.

Upon recommendation of the City Engineer, the City
attorney p~esented Resolution No. 951 (Salary Raise, W. S. Knight-
on to step D, Range 20, erfective March 1, 1957). It was moved
by Flanagan and seconded by Tancre to adopt Resolution No. 951.

Mr. Hobert Sandau suggested that water fluoridation be
studied for the local water system. Referred to the City Engineer'.
It was moved by Spencar and seconded by Tancre to adjourn.
