The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in I
regular session at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Calvo presiding. The
meeting was called to order with the Pledge or Allegiance.

The minutes of the regular meeting of May 21st and the
regular adjourned meeting of May 28, 1957 were read and approved
on the Mayor'S motion.
.~eports of the Police, Building, License, Water and
Tax Departments for the month of May 1957 were presented. It
was moved by Flanagan and seconded by Ross to receive an~ f~le
the City Officers reports.

$l7,373.38 as approved by t~e Finance Committee were presented.
It was moved by Ross and seconded by Tancre that the demands be

The report of the Marine a nd Shoreline Advisory
Committee relative to the leasins of the Municipal Pier was
read in detai~. Mr. R. B. Grotemat. a member of the Committee

addressed the Council stating the report as presented did not

represent his views completely. that. he was in accord with the
basic principles of the report but that he str3ngly favored
grafrting the lease to the present operator~. It was moved by
Roas and seconded by Tancre to refer the neport to the City

to additional paving and lighting adjacent to the Intermediate
School was read and action delayed pending the return of the
City Attorney for legal advice.
Letter from the Chamber of ~ommerce opposing any
change in plans for the subdivision as recorded and filed,
was received and filed.
