Seal Beach, California June 4, 1957 The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in I regular session at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Calvo presiding. The meeting was called to order with the Pledge or Allegiance. Present: Mayor Calvo Councilmen: Tancre, rloss. Flanagan, Spencer Absent: It It None The minutes of the regular meeting of May 21st and the regular adjourned meeting of May 28, 1957 were read and approved on the Mayor'S motion. .~eports of the Police, Building, License, Water and Tax Departments for the month of May 1957 were presented. It was moved by Flanagan and seconded by Ross to receive an~ f~le the City Officers reports. Motion carried. I AYES J NOES: Tancre, Ross. Flanagan, Spencer, Calvo None Demands numbering 5623 to 5733 inclusive, totaling $l7,373.38 as approved by t~e Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by Ross and seconded by Tancre that the demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for the same. Mr. R. B. Grotemat. a member of the Committee 43 Life Guards addressed the Council stating the report as presented did not . Pier represent his views completely. that. he was in accord with the basic principles of the report but that he str3ngly favored grafrting the lease to the present operator~. It was moved by Roas and seconded by Tancre to refer the neport to the City . Letter from the Chamber of ~ommerce opposing any change in plans for the subdivision as recorded and filed, was received and filed. Letter- of request for license to sell fireworks ~ Div. Schoo Fire from the American Legion. Post 300. at 14th and Coast Highway .W.or.ks was read. Upon recOMMendation of the Civil Service Commission ~ ,.6J.~_ ~ ;Z.~d.&e'. ..~~- for reclassification.of the position of Assistant Buildlng Inspector it was moved by Ross and seconded by Spencer that the position be reclassiried from Range 20 to Eange 22, and that the incumbent, who is presently in step D, retain that step in Range 22. Extension of honorary membership in the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce to the Mayor and City Councilman was Comm. received with thanks. Water City Engineers Agenda ~. Subdivision - Progress report given. 2. Orange. County Municipal Water District- Letter in regard to w&ter surface storage facilities was read. 3. Division or Highways -Letter in regard to the San Diego Freeway with local reference maps attached, was read and discussed. It was moved by Tancre and seconded by Ross that the access roads into this City be more clearly defined to permit access in a more direct and even flo~ of traffio. .1 Div. Hwys . AYES :. The City Engineer was instructed to improve the roadway at the West Beach Parking Lot to. eliminate the dirt and dust.- ~ The City Engineer was instructed to have all locks removed in the public rest-rooms.
