The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. You and each of you will please take notice that Pa~l Calvo as presiding officer of the legislative body o~ the City of Seal Beach, hereby calls and gives notice of a Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Seal Beach to be held and . convened at the hour of 8:00 A.M., June 29. 1957 in the Coun- cil Chambers of the City Hall. 8th and Central, Seal Beach. California, to transact the follow.ing busines.sj, To approve agreement with Navy for oil drilling and to approve supple- mental agreement with Signal Oil Company ~or oil drilling. Hickman City Clerk ill ~he City Attorney read a letter and proposed agreement for oil drilling ~rom the Public ~orks O~ficer, Eleventh Naval Districp. After the City Attorney outlined certain suggested changes, it was moved by Tancre and seconded by Spencer, that the City of Seal Beach does hereby accept the terms and con- ditions contained in the draft of proposed easement enclosed I with the letter of the District Public Works Office o~ the Eleventh Naval District, addressed to the City of Seal Beach. dated June 21. 1957, bearing the reference of the District Pub- lic Works Office No. Ser 8284/DE-200, except that Paragraph 26 of said proposed draft shall read as follows: "26. That in the event extraction operations from wells located on the Premises no longer produce economicallu feasible production results, then in such event, the Secretary of the Navy may annul and forfeit this ease- 51 ment ." It was moved by Spencer and seconded by Ross that the City ammend it's original agreement with Signal Oil and o t- O <: *'!! :r:: . Gas Co., and Freeman Fairfield to include in terms of the government easement and assign its' rights under such ease- ment to the Signal Oil and Gas Co., and Freeman Fairfield. and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute a formal agreement to accomplish such results. .Qll... I Mr. Russell Green of Signal Oil and Gas Co., complimented the City Attorney and City upon their full cooperation in obtaining ingress and egress to the oil property and that in his opinion the oil bonus of $112,753.58 could now be used by the City. It was moved by Tancre and seconded by Spencer to Q!L adj ourn. .
