The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Mayor Calvo Counoilmen. Flanagan, Ross, Spencer, Tancre Absent: " " None Mayor Calvo announced that the first order of business would be a public hearing as advertised in.reference to the 19l~ ImproveMent Act (Seventh Street). There being no object- ions either oral or written, the City Attorney presented Heso- lution No. 974. It ~as Moved by Flanagan and seconded by Ross to adopt Resolution No. 9~4. 1911 Act 7th Str. AYES: NOES. Flanagan, hoss, Spencer, Tancre, Calvo None Motion oarried. I The minutes of the regular meeting of Nov. 19th, 1957 were read and-approved on the Mayor1s motion. Reports of the Building, License, Water and Ta~ Departments for the month of NoveMber, 1957 were presented. It was Moved by Ross and seconded by Spencer to receive and file the City Officers reports. AYES: NOES: Flanagan, Ross, Spencer, Tancre, Calvo None Motion carried. . ' 94 Demands numbering 6749 to 6843 inclusive totaling $ll,240.45 as approved by the Finanoe Committee were presented. Mr. Tancre reported meeting with the Employees Associ- I Retire . tion in referenoe to the proposed retirement plan. He stated that the employees favore~ Plan ~2 if adopted by the City Council, but if put to a vote of the people they favored Plan #1. After ment - a general disoussion, it was moved by Tancre and seconded by Spencer that Mr. Trygg oontact the state for ,a complete set-up of Plan #2 to present to the employees for approval. Auditor Upon the recommendation of the City Auditor, it was moved by Spenoer and seoonded by Flanagan to authorize the transfer.of speoial inactive account funds from the General City Fund to a Special Depp~its Trust FUnd, to more properly identify these funds in the financial statements. Also upon the recommendation of the City Auditor it City to authorize a $200.00 was moved by Tancre and seconded by Ross Auditor cash revolving fund for over-the-counter cash transactions. It was moved by Spencer and seconded by Tancre that Ross be appointed alternate director to District 3, Orange county Sanitary District. AnnIs Church I regarding grading and drainage in the alley in the rear of the church, was referred to the Mayor and Street Committee. Request of Robert E. Sharkey, Long Beach, to oon- tract with the City as Pound Master was received and filed. After SOMe discussion the problem was referred to Chief Howard and Roy Thomas to work out. Mr. Ross displayed a sketch of a proposed highway sign for Main and Coast Highway. After discussing. the plan, it was moved by Spencer and seconded by Ross that the City Engineer get plans and specifications for the purpose of advertising for bids for the sign.
