Th~ City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in
regular session at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Calvo presiding. The
meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegianoe.

Mayor Calvo announced that this was the time and place
as advertised to open bids for a police car. The following bids

Copy of a letter sent to the County Board of Super-
visors by Frederic Bessinger relating to county taxes, was
received and filed.

Letter of thanks from the Long Beach Exceptional
Children1s Foundation was reoeived and filed.
Copy of Urange County Board of supervisors Resolution,
calling for Metropolitan Area Recognition, was referred to the
City Attorney.
Request of the Orange County Heart Association to
solicit funds in the City during February 1958 was approved.
At the suggestion of Mr. hoss and after some discussion
it was decided to transfer $35,000 from the Speoial Deposits fund
to a similar account with the Bank of Belmont Shore.
The City Engineer reported that the bid of Hale Young
Ford Company with the trade-in of the 1954 Hudson was the best
bid. The matter was discussed generally. It was moved by Tancre
and seoonded by Ross to accept the bid of Hale Young Ford Co.
at $2251.88 less trade-in allowance for the 1954 Hudson at $lOO.OO.

Mayor Calvo reported his investigation of the alley pav-
ing job between lOth and 11th Streets., north of Electric Avenue,
and that corl'eotions were needed. The City Engineer was instructed
to correct.
