City Clerk - Seal Beach, California . January 21, 1958 The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regu- lar session at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Calvo presiding. The meet- ing was called to order ~ith the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Mayor Calvo Counoilmen: Flanagan, Ross, Spencer, Tancre I Absent: tt '.. It "\ announ'ced None Mayor Calvo that the first. order of business would be the opening of bids as advertised for an electrical Sign for Coast H~ghway. The following bids were opened; 1. Elec trical Produo ts Corp. $4400.00 2. West Coast Neon Co. $5182.92 3. Santa nna Neon Co. $3483.00 4. Harbor Neon Co. $5686.00 It was moved by ~oss and seconded b~Spencer to refer the bids to the City Engineer for analysis and report. ( AYES:. It was moved by Tancre and seconded by Hoss to author- ize the City Treasurer to deposit city funds in a term account with the Bank of Belmont Shore. The Clerk was instructed to contact .the City Auditor for clarification. Letter of thanks from the Seal Beach City Employees Assooiation for the recent Christmas party was reoeived and filed. Building permit fees discussed, with no definite action taken. It was moved by Ross and seoonded by Spencer that Santa Ana Neon Company be awarded the oontract for the electrical sign at $3483.00 and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized and Eleo. Mr. Buck read a letter from Sears Roebuck and Co., city Atty relative to a refund of'license, which was denied by the Council. Mr. Buck also read a letter addressed to representatives u of the Hellman interests regarding the use by Signal Oil and Gas C?mpany, and the City or Seal Beach for the transm1ssion of crude j .Qll oil through a Standard Oil shipping pipeline, and requested per- mission to sign the letter in behalf of the City.
