The City Council of the City of Seal Beaoh met in
-regular adjourned session at 7:00 P.M. with Mayor Calvo presid-
ing. The meeting was called to order with the. Pledge of Allegi-
ance.

Mr. D. L. Crosby, District Sales Representative' of the
General Petroleum Corporation addressed the Counoil relative to
the height..of the proposed city sign at Coast Highway and Main
Street, that it would block-off the sign installed for the
Mobile'station. After disoussion it was moved by Ross and

The report of a survey made by J'Ian Harbour disclosed
that an overwhelming majority of the merohant~ on Main Street
were in favor of the tree planting program.
The riayor announced that he had received three appli-
cations for the position of City Engineer. The Clerk ~as in-
structed to arrange interviews and to pUblish an announcement
of the open position in the Western Cities Magazine.
The City Clerk was instruoted to prepare a neWs
letter for general distribution as had been done in the past.
Mrs. Fred Lusk, President or the Senior Woman's Club
addressed the Council in regard to the sale of Ocean Avenue
property to raise funds for the building of a Community Center.
After discussion it was moved by Spencer and seoonded by Tancre
to request the local realtors to appraise the p~operty for sale
