Building Trades) was presented by the City Attorney. It was
moved by Leonard and seoonded by Tanore that Ordinance No. 523
be deemed as having had its first reading and be passed to the
second reading. Mr. Harbour protested the amendment.

requested the full reading of the ordinance by the City Attorney.
Mr. McCrory and ~. ~.B. Harbour of Marina Bay Homes, spoke in
oppositi~n to the amendment. There was further disoussion with
members of the Council and the City Attorney taking part, the
Clerk again read the request of the local building tradesmen
requesting the aMendment.,

Commission was to be held for the purpose of granting Monterey
Oil Company a permit to add an additional wharf to the island.

Edward S. Milkes be received and filed.
Mr. Leonard suggested that more trash cans be placed in
business areas to discourage "littering". Referred to Mr. Caldwell.
Mr. Leoaard.reported that he and Mr. Jones had purchased
a new stove for the.auditorium kitchen.
Mrs. James Jensen complained of the rust condition of
the water in her area. ~eferred to Mr. Caldwell. .

Miss Charlotte Shuman called attention to the camp fires
on the west beach. Referred to the Police Department.
Mr. Leonard suggested that several banks be contacted to
survey the City for a possible brancb bank. It was moved by Leonard

The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regu-
lar session at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Ross presiding. The meeting
was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes of the regular meeting of May 6th and the
regular adjourned meeting of May 12, 1958 were read and approved
on the Mayor's motion.
Reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for the
month of April, 1958 were presented. It was moved ,by Leonard
and seconded by Tancre to receive and rile the City Officers
reports.

Mayor Ross appointed Mr. Leonard to serve on the Finance
Committee in the absence of Mr. Jones.
Demands, Payroll No. 4b3 to 52l inclusive, and regular
No. 7399 to 7424 inclusive, totaling $10,943.21 as approved by
the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by Flanagan
and seoonded by Leonard that the demands be allowed and warrants
