City er Seal Beach, California May 20, 19.58 The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regu- lar session at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Ross presiding. The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Mayor Ross Councilmen: Flanagan, Leonard, Tanore Absent: It Jones It The minutes of the regular meeting of May 6th and the regular adjourned meeting of May 12, 1958 were read and approved on the Mayor's motion. Reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for the month of April, 1958 were presented. It was moved ,by Leonard and seconded by Tancre to receive and rile the City Officers reports. AYES: Flanagan, Leonar'd, Tancre, Ross ABSENT: Jones Motion carried. Mayor Ross appointed Mr. Leonard to serve on the Finance Committee in the absence of Mr. Jones. Demands, Payroll No. 4b3 to 52l inclusive, and regular No. 7399 to 7424 inclusive, totaling $10,943.21 as approved by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by Flanagan and seoonded by Leonard that the demands be allowed and warrants 144.- ,Reso. 933 Ord. 2!L Police Dept. Civil ~. Banks Fire Dept. Resolution No. 993 (Surplus Federal Property for Civil Defense) was presented by the City Attorney. It was moved by Tancre and seconded by Flanagan to adopt Resolution No. 993. Letter from the Civil Service Commission regarding candi- dates for ~olice Sergeant promotional examination was received and 1 filed. Letters from the Bank of America and the Bank of. Request of the Seal Beach Fire Department to adopt an ordinance which would prohibit burning in incinerators was referred to the ~olice and Fire Committee. Letters of thanks from the Senior and Junior Womans Clubs for the auditorium kitchen improvements, were gratefully acknowledged. Excerpts from the minutes of the Orange County Board of Supervisors regarding Resolution No. 991, were received a nd filed. Upon presentation of the proper application and' fees attached, it was moved by Flanagan and seconded by Tancre to ~I orks issue f~reworks sales permits.to A. J. Notioe of hearing before Public Utilities Commission for certain increases in passenger fares by Greyhound Corporation reoeived and filed. ~ Mr. Caldwell reported that several bicycles and other assorted.properties were being held in storage by the Police Department and suggested that a public auction be held.
