The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regu-
lar session at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Ross presiding. The meeting
was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes of the regular meeting of May 6th and the
regular adjourned meeting of May 12, 1958 were read and approved
on the Mayor's motion.
Reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for the
month of April, 1958 were presented. It was moved ,by Leonard
and seconded by Tancre to receive and rile the City Officers
reports.

Motion carried.
Mayor Ross appointed Mr. Leonard to serve on the Finance
Committee in the absence of Mr. Jones.
Demands, Payroll No. 4b3 to 52l inclusive, and regular
No. 7399 to 7424 inclusive, totaling $10,943.21 as approved by
the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by Flanagan
and seoonded by Leonard that the demands be allowed and warrants

Defense) was presented by the City Attorney. It was moved by

Request of the Seal Beach Fire Department to adopt an
ordinance which would prohibit burning in incinerators was referred
to the ~olice and Fire Committee.
Letters of thanks from the Senior and Junior Womans
Clubs for the auditorium kitchen improvements, were gratefully
acknowledged.
Excerpts from the minutes of the Orange County Board of
Supervisors regarding Resolution No. 991, were received a nd filed.

Mr. Caldwell reported that several bicycles and other
assorted.properties were being held in storage by the Police
Department and suggested that a public auction be held. It was

Mr. Vernon Cunningham requested information as to the
effect of proposed freeways on Seal Beach. It was.explained that
to date plans were too indefinite to know specific looations.
