The meeting was called to' order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Mayor Ross Councilmen: Flanagan, Jones, Leonard, Tancre Absent: " None II Mayor Ross altered the regular order of business to resign as Mayor and Councilman, effective at once for business reasons. He then stepped down as Mayor. VicE Mayor Jones took over the Mayor1s chair. It was moved by Tancre and seconded by Flanagan to accept the resignation of Mr. Ross. folJlowed. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Jones to receive and file the City Officera reports. Mayor Ross called a ten minute recess. The meeting reconvened at 8:10 P.M. Mayor Ross stated that the owners of Lot 16l in Trac~ No. 259~ and Lot 384 in Tract No. 1817 would like to have these lots rezoned from residential to commercial. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Tancre that the Planning Commission is authorized ,and directed to immediately conduct a public hearing on notice, to ascertain whether Lot 161 in Tract No. 2591 and Lot 384 in Traot No. l817 should be zoned commercial or residential,' . Letter from Assemblyman Richard T. Hanna offering .his, assistance on the ~tate level in obtaining funds for beach erosion control, was referred to the City Engineer. It was announced that the City of. Seal Beach will host the Orange County League of Cities monthly Meeting July 31st in the Sun ROOM. An agreement proposed by the Chief of Police for Cities of Orange County Mutual Aid Polioe Proteotion, was referred to the Police Committee. Letters from Ellen V. Sandau and Mrs. Harold B. Robinson in regardil streets eto., was received and filed. Resolutions adopted by the Board of Supervisors o~Orange County giving notice of intention to establish an Industrial Road Camp and an Industrial Farm, were received and filed. Resolution No. 999 (protesting removal of sand in the Santa Ana RIver) was presented by the City Attorney. It was moved by Tancre and seconded by Leonard to Adopt Resolution No. 999. AYES: NOES: Flanagan, Janes, Leonard, Tanore, Ross None Motion carried. Resolution No. lOOO (Orange County Capital IMproveMents) was presented by the City Attorney. So Realtions Bank - ~. police Dept. instructed. Mr. Leonard reported his contaots with Bank of America to open branch bank here. The City Engineer was instructed to post dangerous areas near san Gabriel River, warning of deep water, rip tides, I etc. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Jones that the City Attorney be instructed to bring in an ordinance prohibiting parking on Ocean Avenue, west of First street between 8:~~ P.M. and 6:00 ~.M.
