Jones presiding. The Meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Mayor Pro. Tern. Jones Councilmen: Flanagan, Leonard, Tancre Absent: Councilman Ross. I The minutes of the regular meeting of September 2, 1958 were read and approved on the Mayor's Motion. Reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for the month of August 1958 were presented. It was moved by Tancre and seconded by Leonard to receive and file the Ci ty officeI's reports. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Flanagan, Leonard, Tancre, Jones None Ross Motion carried. Payroll damands Number 980 to 1035 inclusive and regular demands Number 7747 to 7769 inclusive, totaling $15,477.83, as appl'oved by the Finance Committee were pre- sented. ,It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Flanagan that the demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the treasurey I for the same. read by title by the City Attol'ney. Montoya in regard to the extention of the Los Alamitos Air Station were read. I Resolution No. lG06 (Pr~testing the extention of the Los Alamitos Air Station) was presented by the City Attorney. The City Attooney read a letter from the office of the U. S. Attorney General, relative to the cancelation of 1946-47 taxes against the Pacific Electric Railway for , Qroperty condemed by the U. S. Government for the Ammunition Depot. I Resolution No. 1007 and Reso. No. 1008 (Cancelation of Taxes, 1946-47 Pacific Electric Railway) were presented by the City Attorney. It was moved by Tancre and seconded by Flanagan to adopt Resolutions No. 1007 and 1008. AYES: ' NOES: ABSENT: Flanagan, Leonard, Tancre, Jones None Ross Motion Carried. It was moved by Tancre and seconded by Flanagan to accept the reco~nendation of the Planning Commission and grant a fence varianoe to Paul B. Omelich at Dolphin and Marine Avenue's. I Letters from the Cooperative Nursery School, Junior Women's Club, Artists League, and Boy Scouts in referrence to the use of the Youth Center were referred to Mr. Caldwell. Letters of appreciation for the sanitary condition of the streets, alleys, etc. from Mrs. Erickson and Mrs. Knowles were reoeived and riled. Request of Pat Eher to make Dolphin Avenue a "one way street" was referred to the City Enbineer. ". The matter of taking care of street Trees was referred to Mr. Caldwell. Upon the request of Mr. Caldwell, it was moved by Tancre and seconded by Flana~an to permit the alteration of plans fOl' the northwest stOI'lIl drain project.
