The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in
Special Session at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Ross presiding. The
meeti~g was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

You and eac~ of you will please take notice that Harry Ross
as presiding officer of the legislative body of the city of
Seal Beach, hereby calls and gives notice of a Special Meet-
ing of the City ,council of the City of Seal Beach to be held
and convened at the hour of 7:30 P.M., February 6, 1959 in
the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 8th and Central, Seal
Beach, California, to transact the following businessJ
To ,act on awarding of bid for beach
groin and other matters pertaining
to the beach groin.

The Beach Groin Inspection agreement with Moffatt
and Nichols was discussed and action deferred.

After some discussion it was moved by Tancre and
seconded by Flanagan to accept the bid of Pacific Bridge Co.
Inc. of $271,411.00 for the beach groin construction, and to
forward it to the state for approval. After considerable dis-
cussion with all members of the Council taking part, Mr. Tancre
withdrew his motion with the consent of Mr. Flanagan.
After some further discussion it was moved by Tancre
Groin
and seconded by Flanagan that the Director of Public Service
is directe~ to forward the proposed contracts with the Pacific
Bridge Company and Moffatt and Nichols to the State and the
Corps 'of Engineers for their approval and return. The Council
recommends to the State and Corps their immediate approval

The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in
regular session at 7130 P.M. with Mayor Ross presiding. The
meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present: Mayor Ross
Councilmen: Flanagan. Jones, Leonard. Tancre

The minutes of the regular meeting of February 3rd and
SpeCial Mee~ing of February 6. 1959 were read and approved on the
Mayor'sl motion.
Mayor Ross appointed Mr. Leonard to serve on the Finance
Comml ttee.
Reports of the City ,Clerk and City Treasurer for the
month of J~nuary 1959 and the annual report of the Fire Depart-
ment were presen~ed. It was moved by Tanbre" and seconded by
Leonard to receive and file the City Officers reports.

Motion carried.
Regular demands No. 8108 to 8154 and payroll demands
No. 1493 to 1538 inclusive, totaling $17,576.22 as approved by
the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by Flanagan
and seconded by Leonard that the demands be alloweQ and warrants
drawn on the Treasury for the same.
