Request of the Fire Department for the Mayor to pro-
claim the week of April 18th to 25th inclusive as "clean-up Week"
was approved.

Notice of filing a Notice of Intention to circulate
a petition to incorporate a new city to be known as Sunset Bay
and portion of the minutes of the County Boundary Commission.
relative to Sunset Bay, from the Board of Supervisors was
received and filed.
Request of the seal Beach Lions Club to block off
Central Avenue from Main to easterly alley, on May 16th from
7:00 AM to 12:00 noon for their Annual Pancake Breakfast was
approved.
Upon request of the Lions Club it was moved by Tancre
and seconded by Flanagan to approve two locations as requested
&Ad to waive the license fee for two fireworks stands from June
27th through July 5th 1959.

Letter from the Seal Beach Disposal Company regard-
ing the renewal of their contract was discussed. Referred to
the council for further study.
Renewal of Umbrella and Aquatic concession of
G. Stangeland was discussed. It was moved by Leonard and
seconded by Tancre that the agreement be renewed for four
years at $400.00 per year, with the first payment payable
l.uly 1st and that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare
the agreement.

~s there appeared to be a misunderstanding between
certain City Councilmen, City Officials and Craig and North
relative to the removal of incinerators, the matter was referred
to Mr. caldwell and Mr. Craig tOlsbraighten out.
In regard to the condemnation of additional property
near the City Yard, which was discussed at length the matter
was referred back to the City Attorney for further advice and

counsel.
Mr. Buck reported on the progress of the Fifth ~treet
Extension project as it concerns the Pacific Electric Railway
and the Public utilities Commission.
In regard to the weed abatement program, Mr. Caldwell
was instructed to contact the Fire Chief for a permit to burn
the tumble weeds in the subdivision.
It was moved by Flanagan and seconded by Tancre to
authorize the Director of Public Service to abate weeds by the
roto-tiller method.

for a musical ten~ show at Main and Coast Highway, May 11th

the Fire and Police Departments.
