Request of the First Baptist Church to hold ~ meet- ing with a bonfire on the west beach was referred to the Fire and Police Chiefs and the Beach Committee. Announcement of the monthly meeting of the orange county League of Cities, April 30th at Meadowlark Country Club was received and filed. In regard to the proposed annexation of the local Naval property to the City o~ Westminister, Mr. Buck reported that some news releases had made certain erroneous statements attributed to ci~y officials. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Jones that the City Attorney properly answer such statements and that he be authorized to file a fOlmal protest against the annexation. The hazardous condition of the tree basins on Main street was discussed and referred to the Divector o~ Public Works. Permission was granted the Chamber o~ Commerce to hang street banners. . It was moved by JOnes and seconded by Leonard to advance' funds for the purchase of tickets for a, "Seal Beacg Day" at a Los Angeles Dodger baseball game.
