Upon the request of the Chamber of Commerce it was
moved by Tancre and seconded by Leonard to grant permission
for a musical ten~ show at Main and Coast Highway, May 11th
to 16th, license fee waived, all subject to the approvaL or
the Fire and Police Departments.

The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in
regular session at ~:30 P.M. with Mayor Ross presiding. The
meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Twenty-one letters of recommendation fram ~ local
citizens' relative' to the present contractor for rubbish disposal
was discussed and referred to the Council as a whole for study.
'Request of SUlly-Miller Contracting Company for 20,000
cubic yards of sand from the San Gabrie~ River in exbhange for
400 toms of A/C to be'placed on city ctreets was referred to
the City Engineer.
Request of Mrs. Edith Clemow, 125 Dolphin Avenue on
behalf o~a Senior Citizens group for use of the Youth Center
was referred to the Youth Center and Building Committees.
Request of the First Baptist Church to hold ~ meet-
ing with a bonfire on the west beach was referred to the Fire
and Police Chiefs and the Beach Committee.
Announcement of the monthly meeting of the orange
county League of Cities, April 30th at Meadowlark Country Club
was received and filed.
It was moved by Jones and seconded by Leonard to
purchase ~ tape recording machine from Lee Howard at $75.00
for use of the Police Department.

and Associates ooncerning a report covering proposed water well
locationa and production in the city.
. After discussion it was moved by Jones and seconded by
Tancre that the Mayor and City Clerk negotiate a lease contract
for one Case-o-matic tractor for the beach at a total price of
$5,860.17, subject to satisfactory demonstration.

additional property to enlarge the city Yard property could
not be made for several months..

the Mayor and city Clerk be authorized to sign an amendment
to the City and state Sales Tax agreement.

In regard to the proposed annexation of the local
Naval property to the City o~ Westminister, Mr. Buck reported
that some news releases had made certain erroneous statements
attributed to ci~y officials. It was moved by Leonard and
seconded by Jones that the City Attorney properly answer such
statements and that he be authorized to file a fOlmal protest
against the annexation.

Mr. Buck reportad no new developments relative to
the Fifth street Extension project.
The hazardous condition of the tree basins on Main
street was discussed and referred to the Divector o~ Public
Works.
Permission was granted the Chamber o~ Commerce to hang
street banners.
. It was moved by JOnes and seconded by Leonard to
advance' funds for the purchase of tickets for a, "Seal Beacg
Day" at a Los Angeles Dodger baseball game.
