He qisplayed a tentative sketch of the Department of Water and Power outfall as related to his property. Toe matter was.discussed and referred to the City Engineer. Mr. Riddell addressed the council seeking more informa~ion regarding the Youth center and future activities. The matter was discussed by members of the CounciL and audience. Mayor Ross again announced that he would contact Mrs. Avery to see what oould be arranged. It was moved by Jonas and seconded by Tancre to Eng. Robert son Youth center adjourn.' The City Council of the City of Seal Beach met in regular session at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Ross presiding. The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting reconvened at 8.00 P.M. Zoning changes as recommended by the Planning Comm- Jl,I ission as a part of the review ,of a city-wide re~val~ation of land use preparatory to the adoption of the new zoning code to replaoe Ordinanoe NO. 40b, was discussed at length. Further action was deferred for study. After hearing a proposed recreation program presented by Mrs. Valerie Davis, a general discussion with the Council and members' of the audience taking part was held. A peti tion bear- ing over 600 s1gnatures requesting a similar typa of recreation program as in the past be conducted. At the suggestion of Mayor Ross it was moved by Tancre and seconded by Leonard that councilmen Flanagan, Jones, Leonard and Tanc~e be appointed an advisory committee to work out suitable plans, with power to act on limited expenditures. ~. youth Center AYES: NOES. Request of the Artists League to hang a street banner at Ocean and Main was approved. , Letter commending Building Inspector W. S. Knighton t'or his assistance and cooperation, from Walter S. Hale, 1119 Ocean Avenue was received and filed. I Letter from the United Veterans Council, thanking the Council and City Employees for their assistance in the ~morial Day program was received and filed. Invitation to attend "Marina Shores" civic and press preview was acknowledged. Announcement of the June meeting of the Associated Chambers of Commerce meeting was received and filed. Announcement of the June meeting of the Orange County Le~gue of Cities was received and filed. City Engineers Agenda Mr. Caldwell reported that the Beach Parking Lot ,I meters were being installed on a sixt7 day trial basis. The request of Pacific Bridge Company for free park- uN' ing for its employees Ja< denied. Request of informal budget session set for Tuesday, June 23rd at 8:00 P.M. Mr. Caldwell reported that a baffle had been erected around the boiler at the Pacific Bridge Company installation on the west beach to attempt to eliminate the noise. Thomson, 1318 Ocean Avenue for certain ~nterpretation of land use ordinance was referred to Mr. Buck. I Request for a street light at Mar Vista and Coast Highway was referred to Mr. Caldwell.
