The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. ' 1 Presentl Mayor Ross Councilmen I Jones, Leonard, Tancre Absent I II II Flanagan Ordinance No. 546 (Issuance of Citations) .was pre- Ord. sented by title by the City Attorney. It was moved by Tancre and seconded by Leonard to waive the second read~ng of Ordi- nance No. 546. 2M AYES I . Jones, Leonard , Tancre, Ross ABSENTI Flanagan Motion carried. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Jones to adopt Ordihance No. 546. AYES: Jones, Leonard, Tancre, Ross ABSENT: Flanagan Notion carried. 1 After considerable discussion it was moved by Tancre and seconded by Leonard to reject all bids for . Gar bas garbage and trash I trash colLection, except the bid of the Seal Beach Disposal Company and the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute a contract as prepared by the City Attorney, subject to conditions of dis- cussion between members of the City Council and Seal Beach Dis- posal Company. Groin After ~ lengthly disQussion relative to accident prevention as it concerns the beach groin, it was decided to request recommendations from the insurance engineers, the project engineers, and to provide adequate life-guard service. A request far damages in behalf of Lourene Rhinehart, 1527 Seal Way was received and filed. Letter from Mrs. Myrtle B. Robbers of Haywar.d, Calif. commending actions of the Police Department was received and Police Dept. filed. Mr. Leonard read a letter addressed to him from Youth Center Mrs. EveLyn Avery, requesting that the City pay certain bills incurred by the recent Youth Carnival. Referred to the Public Relations Committee. Mr. Bentson requested information regarding a street light at Mar Vista and Coast Highway. Mr. Caldwell reported than an order had been given to the Edison Company thirty days I st. Dept. pas t. It was mov.ed by Leonard and seconded by Tancre to adjourn.
