The meet- ing was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiame. Present I ~or Ross Councilmen: Flanagan, Jones, Leonard, Tanere Absent: " " None- The Clerk read the notice of adjourned meeting. The minutes of the regular meeting of October 6, 1959 were read and approved on the ~orls motion. Reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for the JIIOnth of September 1959 were presented. It was moved by Jones and seconded by Flanagan to reoeive and file the City Officers reports. AYES: NOES 1 Flanagan, Jones, Leonard, Tancre, Ross None I Motion oarried. Regular demands No. 8776 tci 8798 inclusive and payroll demands, No. 2373 to 2423 inclusive, totaling $19,163.00 as approved by the Finance COIIIIIIij;tee were presented. It was moved by Flanagan and seconded by Jones that the demands be allowed 'and warrants drawn on the Treasury for the same. Letter from the Planning Commission recommending a zoning ohflnge of Lot 22, Block 207, Stanton and Lothian Tract from R-3 to C-2j and Notice of Appeal from Bruce Wildasinn in the above matter were read. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Jones that the date of November 24, 1959 at 7 (30 P.M. be set to hear the appeal and to reoeive and file both documents. As requested by the eouncU the Clerk reported his investiga- tion in reg~d to the present zoning of the Airport Club property. The reoords show that it was properly zoned C-2 by the City Counoil on I ~larch 20, 1956. Letter of resignation from Stanle.y Anderson as a member of the P1811IWlg Commission was read. Request of the Bank of Amerioa for five 15 minute parking places in front of 208 Main Street was referred to the CitY' Attorney to prepare a proper ordinance. CitiY Engineer Agenda Beach Groin - Aooeptance of the job was discussed and referred back to the City Engineer for further investigation as to oontractors complianoe. I Traffio Signals, - Bay and Bolsa - These signals being the property of the Navy are offered to the City subjeot to the assumption of all maintenance responib11ities and to providing power to the signals. Caldwell reported that the location of the dump was all wi thin Los Angeles County. Mr. Caldwell told of a proposal to outfit all maintenance men with uniforms, costs, laundry etc. It was JIlOved by Jones and. seconded by nanagan to authorize the expenditures as it concerns the oity, sub- jeot to proposals o.f other companies. I Mr. Leonard reported in behalf of the Chief of Polioe the in- vestigation of the Boat Works at Seventh and Balsa; that the property . was being used in acoordance with the zoning. Ml'. Frank Finch, owner of the Garden Motel asked for better drainage in his area. Referred to the City. Engineer. Mrs. SteilllJlllO addressed the Couno11 regarding the loading and unloading of materials by the Pacific Electrio .Railwq near Twelfth and Electric. Drainage P.E. IW'. '26~ Garbage Trash P. E. Ry. Heavy truck parking o~ the PaciIic Electric Raliway right-of-way was discussed. The City Attornq was instructed to bring in a recommendation and or an ordinance regulating trucking. Garbage and trash disposal collection probleMS were discussed at length.
