The City Counoil of the City of Seal Beach met in regu-
lar session at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Ross presiding. The meeting
was oalled to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes of the regular meeting of Deoember 15, 1959

were read and approved on the Mayor's motion.
Reports of the Building, License, Police, Water and
City Clerks Departments' for the month of December 1959 were pre-
sented. It was moved by Tancre and seconded by Flanagan to receive
and file the City Officers reports.

Payroll demands No. 2634 to 2686 inolusive and regular
demands No. 897~ to 9021 inolusive, totaling $19,864.75 as approved

by the Finance Committee were presented. It was moved by Flanagan
and seconded by Leonard that the demands be allowed and warrants
drawn on the Treasury for the swme.

Letter of reoommendation from the Planning Commission
to appoint Earl Raines and Benny Rapp to fill vacanoies was read
and discussed. It was moved by Leonard and seoonded by Flanagan
that the reoommendation be approved.

by Leonard and seoonded by Tanore that Salathiel Andeberg be

Letter from the Fire Department relative to a new fire
station and equipment was disoussed with no definite action taken.
Letter from C. Craig, 412 Bolsa Avenue and others, re-
garding parking on Bolsa and Seventh Streets, was referred to the
Chief of police.
Letter from the Woman's Club requesting adequate con-
tainers for the disposal of garbage in the auditorium kitohen was
referred to the Building Committee.
A unique Christmas greeting card from C. W. Shepard was
reoeived and filed.
Request of the Orange County Heart Association to solicit
funds in the City was approved.
Announcement of the annual installation dinner of the

Orange County 90ast Association was received and filed.
Water Tower Reconditioning- Upon the reoommendation
of Mr. Caldwell it was moved by Tancre and seconded by Flanagan
that Consolidated Tank Company be awarded a oontraot at $2260.00
for the job.

Mr. Caldwell announoed the receipt of a report from the
State Department of Finance showing the present population of the
City as of November 1, 1959 to be 6820 persons.

Upon the reoommeDdation of the City Attorney, it was
moved by Leonard and seoonded by Tanore that the Mayor and City
Clerk be authorized to,exec~te an amended agreement with Signal
Oil Company for the deposit of oil revenue funds in the Seal
Beach Bra~oh of the Bank of Amerioa.

The proposed street improvement program was referred
to the street oommittee fo~ further study.
Mr. J. A. Delaney, 318 17th Street addressed the Counoil
in regard to the oondition of water in the area. Referred to the

City Engineer.
Mr. Caldwell reported progress on the Fifth Street ex-
tension project with an estimated completion date of June 1, 1960.
Trasp oolleotion was briefly discussed.
The collection of sales tax for a one day auction held
on the Airport Club property some time ago was referred to the
City Attorney.

adjourn..
