After discussion it was moved by Leonard and seoonded by Jones to amend the recent minute order effective March 1, 1960 regarding pay raises, to apply only to those employees in olassi- fied oivil servioe. AYES: NOES: . Flanagan, Jones, Leonard, Tanore, Ross None I Motion carried. It was moved by Jones and seoonded by Flanagan to approve a pay raise of $25.00 per month for the City Attorney. During the discussion Mr. Jones withdrew his motion with the oonsent of the seoond. Pay raises for appointive employees to be made on written request of employeei Mr. Caldwell reported more information still needed on the proppsed water well, as to land aoquisition eto. Mr. Caldwell explained in detail the procedure in setting up the Publio Debt Limit Street Improvement Projeot. Mr. Caldwell reported meeting with officials of the Board of Fire Underwriters relative to the propos~d fire station. It was moved by Leonard and seoonded by Tancre to adjourn until Tuesday, February 23, 1960 at 7:30 P.M. The meeting was oalled to order with the P~edge of Allegiance. . Present: Mayor Ross Counoilmen: Flanagan, Jones, Leonard, Tancre Absent: " None " The Clerk read the letter of appeal from James C. Y9ung for the rezoning of Lots 40 to 53 inclusive and Lots 70 to 80 inclusive, Tract 2591 from R-l to R-3, appealing the decision of the Planning Commission denying the original request. Mr. Young addressed the Counoil requesting more time to be heard on,his appeal. He also stated that if the request was denied he would with-draw his request to rezone the property. After some disoussion it was moved by L[~d.and seconded by ~to deny the request for a time extension. AYES: NOES: Flanagan, Jones, Leonard, Tanore, Ross None Motion oarried. It was moved by Jones and seoonded by Flanagan to con- firm the action of the Planning Commission in denying the request to rezone. Mr. Young stated that he was not prepared to state. The City Attorney was instruoted to oontact the subdivider. Ordinance No. 554 (City Treasurers Salary) was given the second reading by the City Attorney. It was,moved by Leonard and seoonded by Tanore to adopt Ordinanoe No. 554. It was moved by Leonard and seoonded by Jones that William Morrison of 314 17th Street, be appointed to fill out I the unexpired. term of ~ell Brown on the P+anning Commission. AYES: NOES: Flanagan, Jones, Leonard, Tanore, Ross None Motion oarried. Mr. Flanagan suggested that the oity maintenance employees trim the street palm trees. Referred to the Director of Publio Works. Mr. Leonard stated. that there was a land arew within the city limits that is now a part of the Alamitos Bay Marinm that should be investigated. He suggested that Mr. J. A. Woolley be oontacted for information. The, City Attorney to arr~nge meeting. The possible polioing of ,the Marina Harbor entrance within the City DLmits was also discussed. The City Clerk to oontact the Orange County Harbor manager. Bay Blvd. widening and paving was discussed and referred to the City Engineer. After a.general disoussion of oity problems it was moved by Leonard and seoonded by Jones.to adjourn.
