The invooation was given by the Reverend Louis Pick, St. Ann's Church. The meeting was called to order with the Pledge.of Allegianoe. Present: Mayor Pro-tem Gemmill Councilmen: Jones, Leonard Absent: '" .. Flanagan, Gibbs It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Jones to approve the minutes of Aug. 2nd, Aug. 3rd, Aug. 4th, Aug. 7th and Aug. 8th as presented. AYES:' ABSENT: Jones, Leonard, GemmLll Flanagan, Gibbs Motion carried. Mayor Pro-tam Gemmill appointed himself to serve on the Finanoe Committee in the absence of Mr. Flanagan. Regular demands No. 9567 to 9638 inclusive and payroll demands No. 3517 to 3584 inclusive for a tota:l of $35,155.91 as approved by the Finanoe Committee were presented. It was moved by Jones and seconded by Leonard that the demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the Treasury for the same. AYES: ABSENT: Jones, Leonard, Gemmill Flanagan, Gibbs Motion oarried. Letter and refund cheok in the amount of $2028.91 from the State Compensation Insurance Fund was reoeived and filed. Ins. Request of Bonnie O. Prioe for license to open an enter- tainment oafe with dancing at 800 Coast Highway was referred to the various departments ooncerned for investigation on mo~ion of Leonard Lioen Dept. and seconded by Jones. Mayor Pro-tem Gemmill requested Mr. Brashear to give a Annex report on the annexation proceedings for the benefit of the audienoe. I Mr. Brashear reported aotion taken to date, and that a ruling from the County Counsel was pending. Mr. San-Filippo inquired about signal lights on Coast High- way. Mr. Buck reported no reply to his letter. Mr. San-Filippo thanked the Counoil for the removal of bill- St. De t. boards in the subdivision. Mr. Joe Tancre addressed the Counoil to request a olean up ,382 Weeds Riso. 1077 Reso. 1078 Bud!l:et Tax ~ St. Imprv. Sewa!l:e of the Youth Center prior to their monthly danoes for the youth group. Referred to the City Administrator. The City Attorney announced that the notice of the weed K..kRm.~t abatement report had been posted as required. .No objections, either written or oral. Reso. No. 1077 (Weed Abatement) was presented by the City Attorney. It was moved by Jones and seoonded by Leonard to adopt Reso. No. 1077. It was moved by Leonard and seconded by Jones to adopt Reso. No. 1078. AYES: ABSENT: Jones, Leonard, Gemmill Flanagan, Gibbs Motion carried. Reports.of the Water Department, City Clerk and City Treasurer were presented. It was moved by Jones and seoonded by Leonard to reoeive and rile the City Offioers reports. AYES: ABSENT: Jones, Leonard, Gemmill Flanagan, Gibbs Motion carried. I The City Administrator. presented the p~rposed budget for 1960-61. It was moved by Jones and seoonded by Leonard to adopt the 19&0-61 budget of $673,113.50 as prepared by the City ~dministrator. AYES: ABSENT: .Jones, Leonard, Gemmill Flanagan, Gibbs Motion oarried. The adoption of the tax rate to be done at an adjourned meeting. Mr. Brashear reported that the Street Improvement Debt Limit Act report had been received and was on file ~ith the City Clerk. Mr. Brashear reoommended that certain improvements be made to the Sewage Treatment Plant. After some discussion it was moved by Jones and seconded ~y Leonard that the City Administrator be in- struoted to advertise for bids ror the improvement of the Sewage Treatment Plant as proposed. Mayor Pro-tem Gemmill introduoed Robert MacClure, newly appointed Chief of Police. Mr. Brashear also reported improvements in the water It was moved by Jones and seoonded by Leonard to adjourn until Aug. ?3rd at 7:30 P.M. The meeting was oalled to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Mayor Pro-tem Gemmill Councilmen: Flanagan, Jones, Leonard Absent: " Gibbs " Ordinance No. 562 (Tax Rate 1960-61) was presented by the City Attorney. It was moved by Leonard and seoonded by Jones to adopt Ordinance No. 562. AYES: ABSENT: Flanagan, Jones, Leonard, Gemmill Gibbs Motion carried. 338 Beach Ord. 562 Resolution No. 1079 (Annexation-Uninhabited Territory) was presented by the City Attorney. It was moved by Flanagan and seconded Reso. by Jones to adopt Resolution No. 1079. AYES: ABSENT: Flanagan, Jones, Leonard, Gemmill Gibbs Motion carried.
